I am confused about something in Star Wars... I need a few questions answered..

Is Lord Sidious in Episode I,the evil emperor in the other episodes? Just today I realized on the back of the box, it said the evil emperor was senator Palpatine..

Also, toward the end of Episode I, "Padmè" comes forward to reveal herself as the real Queen Amidala.. Is Padmè really the real queen, or is Padmè the decoy?

These things have just been bugging me the last few days, and had to get them out..

Padme was queen (it's an elected office with a set term... this is why she's not queen in Episode II.) We had a huge thread about this earlier... if you do some searching, you'll find links to an official website that breaks down the switches in the first movie.

Senator/Chancellor/Emperor Palpatine almost certainly is Darth Sidious. I say almost certainly because it's so blindingly obvious (to people really familiar with the series) that it might be a red herring.

Hmm...How about answering this one. If George Lucas is so creative and all that the why was he dumb enough to make the technology better in Episode 1 than in Episode 4-6. I mean, I know they didn't make movies back then like they do now, but you'd think he would have used his brain and had it make more sense.

He actually explained this, it's worse in episodes 4-6 because that was after the Empire came along, and destroyed all the "advanced" stuff.

...Sure is a creative and fast way to make up for low technology.

It's actually more historically accurate then it is creative... this is what happens under an oppressive regime.

That's actually one of the things that people liked about Star Wars, was the level of detail on the ships... meaning things like, they were dirty, beat up, and malfunctioned in interesting ways. They looked like they had, in short, survived a very bad period of galactic history.
