As I've noticed that I seem to be the only one around here, save for Evre poking her head out of the darkness every once in a while to say something, only to duck back into the shadows. I've decided that we need someone else around here to pick up the slack.

Pseudonym, while he has no idea of this promotion until just now as he's reading this, has been promoted to sage status. This will allow him to judge what games are added to the guild, forum management as well as changing the layout of the site.

Congratulations, Pseudonym. Enjoy the headache.

Well, I'll be damned. I'm actually making a post that has absolutely nothing to do with games that are submitted to the guild. Maybe that's because I split the member base into 2 default sections, and only gave the people I know wouldn't submit stupidity the ability to submit anything at all.

On to the real purpose of the post however... Recent forum discussion has sparked some interest in the guild as to building a guild related game. I'm sure this will fumble through the cracks, and nothing will get far, just like my CSS requests, however you do have the ability to prove me wrong. So please click here and proceed to do so.

As for the CSS, since I can't make a post that doesn't seem to involve it in some way. It appears that not many people like it(if any at all), yet nobody wants to do anything about it. I've decided that if nobody wants to take responsibility that I'm going to change this guilds CSS to match my own with some revisions(we don't want it identical). If you aren't game for that, then I suggest you make a comment here stating otherwise, because I'm only going to wait a couple days before I do it.

That's all for now, and remember to "play the role, not the roll."

This isn't directly related to BYOND roleplaying, per se, but it's certainly a major event in the tabletop roleplaying world. You might remember my failed attempt at getting a game of Nobilis going here. The author of the system has been otherwise occupied for quite a while, so the game itself has gotten little attention over the years. To make matters worse, its publishing situation is caught up in a world of red tape, making a dead-tree copy of the book almost impossible to find for MSRP (it's considered a collector's item, apparently).

It seems that Nobilis might be seeing something of a revival in the form of a reprint. In addition, it's also received its very first official supplement. It's only available in PDF format, sadly, but it contains several interesting new concepts, including the long awaited elaboration on flower magic and alchemy. Even better, it's free, courtesy of the author herself. Of course, you can still pay a token $5 at DriveThruRPG.com (see earlier link) to show your support for the revival, and appreciation for the new content.

If you like roleplaying and you enjoy thinking creatively, I strongly urge you to take a good hard look at Nobilis. It's a wonderful game that's virtually unheard of, and that really needs to change. I'd be happy to share the PDF of the source book with anyone interested, if only because I know you'll fall in love with it after reading and rush out to buy the reprint as soon as it's available.

Thanks to Evre's generosity, we have our guild back. Thank you very much to her.

It still stands however that we are in dire need of a new stylesheet. If you want plain and boxy, I can change it to reflect my own, however that isn't really what should be used for a roleplayers guild.

Maybe if we bug Foomer, we can get him to design us one. If you take a look at his guild, as well as the RPG guild, you'll see his work.

We are in desperate need of a new layout for the site. I designed how it looks now and it looks like horrible garbage, and I'm not ashamed to say it.

At some point about half a year ago I seem to recall someone designing a CSS for us, whatever happened to that I do not know, but it has remained looking like this for quite some time, and I'm getting sick of looking at what I call filler.

I know there are plenty of go-getters out there that can design a lovely CSS for us. So come on people, don't be shy. You aren't when it comes to submitting crap, so don't be shy about this either.

The person whose design is accepted will be credited as well.

Well, once again here I am after far too long of neglect with a crap load of game submissions... and once again I have a feeling that none of them may make the cut.

December 2nd, TrueTruth submitted the game Dragon Ultimate Warriors for approval. This is his own game, and from the look of it, the most it could possibly be is a hub entry with a Dragon Ball Z picture. Don't worry though, he's looking for a coder to make his game that doesn't exist, and he's looking for a host so that others can play his imaginary game.

Also on December 2nd, Vegetassj9 submitted Battle of Evermore. That's about as wanted here as Mystic Journey is. Go level yourself somewhere else, we have finer detailed things on our mind.

Then on December 7th, King ogichi decided to go nuts and submit 4 games to the guild at once. The games being Bleach Online, Dragonball Online, Bleach: The Captain Within, and Naruto: Rise From The Grave. That didn't tickle his fancy however... December 16th he came back to submit Naruto Shinobi Crysis, then he came back again December 26th to submit DBGT Return of Chaos, THEN he came back again to submit Digimon Chronicles of Champions for the new year. What a go-getter, too bad it's only going to take me 3 seconds to click every single one of those games and decline it.

Ryder910 also came to us that same day January 6th to submit Harry Potter.

Let's see, January 8th Vincent Crescent submitted Bleach AfterLife Genocide, then again on January 14th he submitted BleachBL.

January 27th I Melissa I submitted Kagetsu Tohya, which we'll give credit for it's a new Anime that I haven't seen on BYOND yet. Don't worry though, none of you will be seeing it here, since this is a Roleplaying Guild, not an Anime guild.

Ryder910 came back to us again Febuary 1st to bring us a lovely entry of Naruto: Days of The Last Shinobi. Which will be added to the guild as soon as my IQ drops below 80 and I begin to drool on myself.

The next day H1ppyh8t3r64 submitted something called wonka wonka wonka. Which I would have accepted blindly if it wasn't for the fact that I'm a long haired hippy and he's going against my kind.

I Melissa I came back to give us some DragonBallZ and then submitted something called Mitadake High, which appears to be some form of Anime game.

Looks like I was right, 18 games have been submitted over the last 2-3 months, and not a single game is even worth batting an eye at. Except maybe wonka wonka wonka. I'll never know though in fear of my people. Better luck next time.

(Just a note; wonka wonka wonka isn't a game, it's just a hub entry)

If you want your game in the guild, don't make it an anime game, I know it's hard to do since you always open up Dream Maker and it's blank, and the only thing you can seem to find to fill it are these lovely source codes that parade themselves about so openly. However I found out that if you actually type stuff on your keyboard in the right order, you can fill it yourself and not look like an idiot.

Hey everyone,

I'd like to apologize for my extreme absence here on BYOND and the Roleplayers Guild. It was not very cool of me to suggest the guild, have other people start it, and then bail and leave it all to them.

Thanks much to Mikau and Evre. I'm not going to come back and try and usurp control over the guild, but I will do my best to try and participate in guild related events.

I'm also doing my best to implement RP friendly content in Tara'ka. Hopefully that'll spur some interest in the guild and roleplaying in general.

Thanks,
Hello everyone, it's nice to orate to the masses after having been silent for so long. I'm filling in for Mikau since he's suffering an acute case of "I don't give a damn" today. Anyway, I thought I'd reiterate what Mikau's gone over several times already, because some people apparently don't get it.

We received a number of games to be reviewed for listing acceptance. I'll detail why none of them were approved in the order they were submitted.

Jrsosa17.DragonballEternalLegacy2 : I haven't touched a Dragonball BYOND game in a long while, so I'm not up to date on what's a rip and what's original or anything like that. With that in mind, I logged on to Dragonball Eternal Legacy 2 with the intention of reviewing it solely based on its quality and quantity of roleplay. After talking to a few people, it became alarmingly apparent that not only did they not RP in the game, some of them didn't even know what roleplaying was.

Akiyo.AlagaesiaTrailsofTomorrow : Alagesia's hub description made it sound promising. Unfortunately, with no hosted server, it's extremely difficult to determine whether or not any roleplaying actually occurs. While I am denying the submission this time, I encourage Akiyo (or anyone else associated with the game) to contact the Roleplayer's Guild with more information. We're really stagnant around here (probably because our standards are unreasonably high for the BYOND community), and generating some hype for an upcoming RP game would be great.

KershiVelix.PWCB : I extend the same courtesy to KershiVelix, because I was unable to access any hosted servers at the time of the review. Get in touch with us, tell us what you're about, and we might not just list you but try and generate some community interest as well!

Bushuda94.LostSoulsofTime : This is a rip. Not only is it a rip, but there's no mention of roleplay at all within the community. So it's a rip and it's not a roleplaying game. Why did you think this needed to be listed under the Roleplayer's Guild?

SpectorEntertainment.Progeny : I had slightly higher hopes for Progeny, because I've heard the name mentioned before, but it doesn't seem to be finished, so I can't Approve the submission without some prior discussion. Worldweaver, or anyone else from SpectorEntertainment, is encouraged to drop us a line so we can try and get the word out about an upcoming RP BYOND game.

Lilkondey.dbzGTtne : Wasn't hosted. There wasn't any indication of roleplay mentioned on its hub entry, though, so I have a feeling it's not really going to have a place here anyway.

Narutohyuga.ShardsOfTime : Rip, no RP, etc.

So there you have it. A few no's, a couple of maybe's, and an unfortunate lack of "yes". I should note that all of the hosted Dragonball games I logged in to tonight for this review each shared the same codebase. We aren't BYOND Anime. We don't accept rips, and unfortunately due to the stigma your peers have helped create around the genre, we hold most anime fangames to a much stricter standard than their non-anime counterparts. Please keep this in mind before submitting a game for listing.

We're far too dead. I know that's a bit hypocritical after having just denied a lot of new blood, but I firmly believe that we can make the Roleplayer's Guild work without lowering out standards. There are games being developed right now that are perfect for us, and I want all of you developers to get in touch with me at your convenience with project details.

I highly admire ACWraith's "Along the Tech Tree" posts in BYOND Strategy, and I think it's a good idea to do in pretty much any genre-oriented guild. Help us become active!

As the only person who seems to give a damn about the RP guild(even if it is only once a month), I'm making my public duty to announce every game submitted into this guild, along with the idiot who submits the games.

Oh don't worry though, the games that are accepted won't be blasted. Only the ones that shouldn't have been submitted in the first place.

First game on the agenda is a Dragon Ball Z game called: Frontline. This lovely game made by Spartan261(haha I said lovely, isn't sarcasm lovely?), was submited and all I can say is: "Stupid people stick together for a reason, and they have a place. It's called the Anime guild."

Next ont he list is Dragon Warrior: Shadows of Erdrick. This game is fine and all, but it's not roleplaying. It's rollplaying. Read the subtitle, Dpheonix7. You clicked join, you must have the ability to somewhat string 4 letter words together.

Onward! Lilkondey decided(like an idiot), to add his 2 games to the mix. "dbzGTtne", which I'm going to assume is an abbreviation for some sentence and the word garbage, as well as "NarutoGenerationreborn". I think he may have used someone we know's name generator for that one. Seems as thought the idiots that think this stuff up don't even bother choosing DBZ or Naruto, they just name it twice. Hey, if you put out enough hub entries, I'm sure someone will forget what they're joining and click your game, don't worry. Oh, here's a better idea, why don't you call it Naruto's Bleach Dragon Ball. Get all the anime you can in the name, and you'll get all the fan base...

No seriously, go on. Do it...

oh, and when you're done. Don't submit it here.

P.s. I'm still waiting for someone to tell me what "kinkyvampire", and "AlagaesiaTrailsofTomorrow" are. I'm removing them, until someone does. Resubmit then and get a hold of me if they're actually roleplaying games.
