I need help making a computer. I mean I know how to put it together and what-not; that's the easy part. But I need help on finding parts for it. I don't really know what's good and isn't. Just please remember this if you tell me any parts: cost is not a problem - go crazy.

3.2 p4 with at least 1mb of L2. 1-2Gb of ram. Asus MotherBoard. ATI graphics card, 9800XT would be great, or an all in wonder if price really doesnt matter. Antec case. Sony DVD burn. Need more? Soundblaster makes good sound cards if you need one. A second drive DVD-ROM would be good for coping movies and cds.

The PC I'm building (around $700-800 with everything, including a case which isn't listed):

# Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3400+ CPU (754 pin)
# Motherboard: Asus K8V-X
# Memory: 1 GB PC3200 DDR, generic
# Video Card: Radeon 9800 PRO 128MB 256-Bit
# Sound Card: Soundblaster 5.1 Surround Sound Live! w/ generic surround sound speakers
# HDD: Seagate 80GB Hard Drive
# Monitors: Dual 17"

That's pretty much top of the line and can run anything on the market. Not a bad investment.
I would go with

Athlon 64 FX-55
2GB DDR2 RAM
Two Geforce 6800 GTs in SLI
4x 76 Gig Raptor 10k

Thars yourself a powerful, very expensive computer :)
