Gates vs GM

Haha, This is funny. I recieved it from a work email.

"for all of us who feel only the deepest love and affection for the way computers have enhanced our lives, read on.

At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compated the computer industry with the auto industry and stated,
'If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we could all be driving $25.00 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon.'

In respinse to Bill's comments, General Motors issued a press release stating:
'If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characterstics:
1) For no reason whatsoever, your cas would crash....twice a day.

2) Everytime they repainted the lines in the road, you have to buy a new car.

3) Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windos before you could continue. For some reason you would simply accept this.

4) Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refure to restart, in which case you have to reinstall the engine.

5) Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive--but would run on only five percent of the roads.

6) The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by single "This Card HAs Performed An Illegal Operation" warning light.

7) The airbag systen would ask "Are you sure?" before deploying.

8) Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever your car would lock you out, refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna.

9) Every time a new car was introduced, car buyers woiuld have to learn how to drive all over again because none of the old controls would operate in the same manner as the old car.

10) You'd have to press the 'Start' button to turn the engine off"

Have you ever had your plans just ruined? completely distroyed? I have been planning something for my university since January. It was an outdoor event to raise money for a Hunger donation place. And what does mother nature do? It tells me to Fuck off and..it rains and is like 50 degrees. Last week it was 80 degrees, why the sudden change? I think it might be me. I think I might be hated. Yep, byond members arent the only ones that dont like me, they are in network with mother nature.

In other news, I have papers galore to write, and I have exactly no motivation to write them. Two weeks until summer starts. I believe I am counting the hours...maybe even minutes. Nah, my math is not that good. Lets see, what else. Oh today I broke my own promise to myself. Isnt that lovely.

I think Im going to continue to stare at my laptop screen in hopes that my 20 page papers might write themselves. Wouldnt that be grand?

right now I should be working on my conference presentation, but dratz, ADD has the best of me.

Someone sent me a Dane Cook video. Its about B and E.
So when it comes to SoE, I am now event coordinator. yeahy! that means I get to plan many different events, like birthday parties and other fun things! Im really excited.

So, I guess byond has a newspaper sorta thing. maybe Ill write for it or something like that. We will see what happens.

the wonderful world of byond

So, as of late, I am discovering there is more to byond then just my two favorite games. First, as you can tell I got a membership. Then I realized...I was not a fan of boring pages, and with a help from a wonderful person named Mikau, I got an awesome kicking page. And yes, I am a hippie--deal with it.

Then there is the discovery of edit skins. First, I am coding illterate. Like I know nothing. So finding skins was interesting. (I had to adjust my macros for some reason) However, the macro issue did not get solved..and after playing around with that, and different skins and layout (didnt know I could change the size of windows of texts and stuff) I think I might have solved the macro issue *crosses fingers*. So by the time I am done...as of now, I have learned more about byond then I have in my almost two years on here.

odd. Then again, I want to get involved more, and hopefully I will have that chance. (some know what Im talking about)

Well, I have written a lot.
