I've had an interesting little problem lately with Byond, one that I am at a loss of how it came about or what to do to fix it.
I've had Byond installed on my computer for quite some time, and I've never had any real problems with it but about a couple months or so ago, I've noticed a few things going on that, although nothing preventing me from using Byond, is gradually making me more and more annoyed. The first thing is that when I turn on Byond itself, in the Pager section, a tiny black rectangle rests there (exactly as though I tried to highlight a single space with the mouse). Clicking in the Pager area removes this box, though.
Another thing is that when my mouse is on the left edge of the general text box, it seems to activate the function that has you highlight an entire line of text, similar to Notepad. (Although I've never had any real problem with this specific action, I felt it was good to bring it up as this appeared with the other things)
Not only that, but if I try to highlight something to copy and paste starting on the rightmost edge of a line (the only way I can highlight clickable Urls without activating them), and if the game I am on uses player icons before their words, the icon creates a box around itself instead. I don't know why, but that prevents me from properly highlighting things from time to time.
One more problem I have is when text scrolls off the screen. For a split second, the entire text bar flashes the topmost section of the text logs before scrolling up to show something new.
I have no idea what I've done to cause these problems to start themselves nor do I know how to get rid of them. I have tried removing and completely reinstalling Byond but each one of these things remain. However, I have Byond installed on a different computer and none of these things occur on that computer so I doubt it really is Byond's fault, and I know I really haven't given any possible hints as to how these started but if for any reason someone else has had this happen, and figured out how to stop it, I would appreciate and help you can offer.

I don't know why, but that prevents me from properly highlighting things from time to time. When you try to select an icon that's in the main text box, that is what happens. The icon creates a box around itself, showing that you have selected it. It probably has something to do with the way the text box works. I don't see why it would be a huge problem, though/ One more problem I have is when text scrolls off the screen. I see that whenever the text window has a LOT of text in it, and is possibly at its limit. It does get quite annoying. | |
