Greetings.
I wonder if any of you knows a real time strategy game which allows for two players to control the very same fraction/tribe/what have you, meaning that both players can actively command the very same unit. This mode should be accessible via the internet.

The Settlers 1 has such a feature, but as far as I recall it did not support internet access.

Any help and suggestion would be welcome.
Thank you in advance.
You don't need to go any further than the best RTS there is. Starcraft has such a mode. It is in one of the update patches though, if I recall correctly, so you have to update after you install to get the cooperative mode.

It is actually one of my favorite ways to play the game.
If Settlers 1 supported LAN play you might try Hamachi to setup a simple VPN so that as far as Settlers is concerned you are both local.
Age of empires has it. The original edition (at least).
TA Spring is the only one I can really think of.

Age of Empires 2 allows this as well if I recall correctly. I think all you do is set your player number to the same as another person's. Then again, I could be wrong -- I'm not much of a co-op kind of person.
