If we are going to try and help as best we can, I think one of the best places to start is with a tutorial of the most basic level. I think that one of the main problems with people not being able to figure things out is that their foundations are shaky. If you straighten out their roots, the rest should at the very least follow much smoother.
I have attempted to create a tutorial that goes back to complete lack of programming knowledge of any kind, and I have attempted it several times. However, my main problem is with writing, as I have writers block from the start and every sentence along the way whenever I try to write anything. I have several versions of my "Programming for the Nonprogrammer" lying around both on paper and on my hard drive, but most of them have so little written that they aren't worth keeping around.
If anyone has better writing talent and would like to help me out by writing about the code I make, that might help to finally get a good, solid tutorial out the door. You wouldn't need to worry about making any code or design philosophy unless you wanted to; I have ideas about what I'd like to be in a tutorial and what direction I would want it to go, but I just can't seem to get to the point when I try to write about my code snippets. |
