Believe it or not, I JUST beat Half-Life for the PS2. And while I enjoyed the game to no ends (even though at final stages I almost ripped my own hair out..). I have played it for almost 4 days in a row when I get home from work or on the weekend.

I defeated the final boss and I got to the ending, in which they give you two choices. So you save it before you chose one or the other. And both ends are like 20 seconds long and suck. THEY SUCK! SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK!

I love the game, I honestly do, but the endings blow so hard it isn't funny.

Anyways today I started on Half-Life 2 for the Xbox. I really like how the explain a lot more of the first games story in it. It is a lot more cinetamitc then the first game for sure.
Valve makes awesome games, but they seem to crap out on the endings. You're not going to like the ending to HL2, probably.

Half Life 2 for Xbox sucks. Buggy physics, chopped down graphics (Xbox doesn't meet minimum requirements for HL2.), and Autoaiming. >_>

You're going to love the ending, mainly because it's almost exactly like the ending from HL1 (Minus the choice part). Story gets continued in HL2:Ep1.

HEY THANKS FOR TELLING ME THE ENDING WHEN I HAVEN'T BEATEN THE GAME YOU DOUCHE.

News Flash I didn't ask for the ending to the 2nd game, all I did was say I disliked the ending to the first one.

Anyways about Half Life 2 sucking for Xbox..

(1. I think the graphics look fantastic.
(2. I think the physics are fantastic.
(3. My computer dosen't meet minimum requirements for HL2.
(4. I suck at FPS, I love the Auto Aiming Feature.

I have yet to encounter any graphical glitches. I am currently in the chapter "We don't go to Ravenholme".

I haven't seen any glitches with the game physics, but since I am not a physics scientist and I am willing to bet a good deal of money, neither are you, I think you should just let that one rest.

The Auto Aiming feature is a nice touch. One of my worst merits as a FPS gamer is the fact I am terrible at aiming. I lost tons of ammo in Half-Life 1 because of this fact. The Auto Aiming feature is great. And it isn't like you can be looking in a differet direction and suddenly be Auto Aiming at someone from behind you, you have to be TRYING to aim at a target before you will lock on to it.

I think it is a fine game, one of the best for the Xbox and certinaly out performs Halo, so unless you are planning on going out and developing your own FPS for Xbox or something, Id stop bad mouthing the game.

No multiplayer for HL2 Xbox. There is multiplayer for HL2 PC.. you get CounterStrike: Source, Half Life 2 DM, and the countless fanmade mods.

Sorry about the ending. Thought that my reply didn't reveal too much.

Also, I've read lots of reports of the physics glitching up on HL2 Xbox. Maybe those guys modded or something, I dunno.

My Xbox is modded, I couldn't play on LIVE! if I wanted to, I only have 1 Xbox so I can't link up for multiplayer gaming and I hate playing head to head on a small TV set, which I own. Multiplayer may have been a nice touch but not nessesscary.

Fanmade Mods, thats what you said right? Fanmade meaning, not offical. So I don't really care. I rarely buy expansion packs to begin with so the fact that I don't have access to Mods will not bother me. Besides, if I really wanted to, my Xbox is modded so I could always inject Mods to the game on my Xbox if need ne.

The Half Life ending isn't much. Its like 10 seconds long for each one.

Games are always bound to have bugs no matter what platform you use. I have had one glitch, where I went to a new area, and as the area loaded, it froze up and it said my Disk was Damaged. I restarted my Xbox and it worked fine.

Almost every game is guiltly to some degree for glitching, so I don't find that a good excuse to bad mouth a game.
Maybe that's because the GAME ISN'T OVER. :)
Originally, I agreed. The cliffhanger was stupid. But:
Half-life 2 Episode One is available through steam now. It continues where the original left off. They will be continuing to release episodes, but expect to pay $20/piece.

Well if they don't come out for the Xbox Ill just download them.

Even though it's called Half-Life 2: Episode One, the developers consider it (and the next two episodes) to be Half-Life 3. So technically the game is over. But I'm just nitpicking. =P
I never beat the game for PS2. I really liked it, and I still have the game, but I can't beat that last guy. Or maybe it's not the last guy. He's like this big floating baby or something like that if my memory is correct.

I'm all the way at that bottom of the hole and I think I can jump really high or something. Or maybe their are some teleportation devices, I don't remember. All I remember is that I dunno how to kill him.

Oh umm..

You can play online with other people through your PC and your Xbox. It's like system link through the internet, they way it's setup.

http://www.xbconnect.com/

It supports Xbox, Xbox360, and the PSP. (GASP)

That is the last boss. He can be really hard if you don't know what you are doing.

There are 4 orange crystals scattered on the walls in his room, you need to break those first. I suggest using the Bazooka. After you break them, he won't reginerate.

Then you just keep shooting his head with your strongest weapons. I used that Plasma Cannon (Not the blue beam, the one you can charge.) I just hit him in the head with it like 5 or 6 times fully charged and he goes down.

I heard rumors if you can manage to drop a satachel charge into his head while it is opened and then set it off, it will do massive ammounts of damage.
In response to Shades
How can you not care about "unofficial" mods? What's wrong with them?
In response to Shades
I killed it using a crowbar. =P Just have to use the jump pads right.

Actually if I remember correctly I slipped off its head and died from fall damage... but I still won the game anyway. =D
In response to Crispy
The floor is made out of something different in the main chamber. You can only take fall damage if you

1.) Land on one of the stone spikes in the floor.
2.) Land on one of the stone cliffs on the walls.
3.) Land in a healing pool or on a jump pad

As long as you fall on the red ground you won't take any fall damage.

Because they are unoffical. Thats why. Unless the stuff is from a offical source by the developers I consider it utter crap and not important.

Thats like if some kid made a new Sonic the Hedgehog game and designed a new character and suddenly everyone was swearing by it. Its not offical, it dosen't count.

I prefer flipping him on his back to attack his weak point.

_< Shades. That's really biased. A lot of the HL2 mods out right now are pretty awesome. Don't be so "close-minded."
A lot of these mods are more professional than HL2 (Professional != Better). Also, most of these mods are total conversion mods that have only multiplayer support. Hell, the multiplayer in the mods are better than the Counter-Strike Source and the HalfLife2 Deathmatch that comes with HL2 for PC.

IMHO, Dystopia and Hidden are the best ones out right now. The bottom three aren't out yet. There's Plan of Attack, but that one's complete (Out of Beta phase). There's GMOD, however that's more of a playground thing where you do whatever you want (Literally).

WELL GEE GO FIGURE, I don't want to waste my time with anything that isn't offical for the game. Thats right I am being biased.

Why should I care what some fan wants to make? I shouldn't thats why. Unless it is offical it has nothing to do with the seires and I don't care abou it.

I don't care if you think they are awesome. Thats like some 10 year old making a new evil dead movie in his basement and saying, its awesome! Guess what I don't care.
In response to Crispy
Yeah, I also slipped off his head once and died. And, I tried shooting those crystals, but one or two of them just wouldn't break.
