My pc keep making like a "shhhhhhh" sound...sometimes it'll stop after a second or two, other times itll keep doing it,it freezes up,then it goes to a black screen w/ grey text....it says some stuff at the top but at the bottom it says "beginning dump of physical memory". Anyone know what the problem is?
where's the shhhh sound coming from? Does it sound like a fan or is it the speakers or what?

Try a virus scan

I think its the fan

What does a virus have to do with the sound? Unless the virus is doing something truly evil like overclocking your harddrive, it shouldn't create any sound at all (Except for maybe a alert sound from your antivirus).

Anyways, a ssshhhh sound could be anything. Maybe you could open your case while the computer is on (Don't touch anything inside the computer while the computer is on.) and pinpoint the origin of the sound.

Lol theres only one side to my case. So its open on one side...I've touched around on stuff in there but can't seem to fix the noise...BUT, a little while ago I banged on it and it hasnt done it in an hour or so lol.. w00t for banging (no pun intended)
The CPU is telling one of your case fans to be quiet :P

Just stick your head near your computer and listen very closley and you should be able to figure out where its coming from

If you can figure out where the sound is coming from it would help a lot. The noise you described is almost certainly coming from something that spins, so it could be fans, hard-drive, CDROM, or Floppy. CDROM and Floppy can be eliminated just by removing and disks or discs you might have in the computer. If the noise is coming from the fans, you can replace or ignore it, but I don't think it is. Guessing by the fact that it is crashing, I would guess that it is your hard-drive.

If it is, in fact, your hard-drive, your hard-drive is dying. All the data on it will be lost, and you will have no choice but to buy a new hard-drive (or have the factory take care of if it is still under warranty.)

its also possible it's the cpu fan, if that doesnt cool the cpu enough, could crash the puter...

I'd put my bet on one of those two things
