Roman Polanski
No one should be defending this creep. He raped a child. It wasn't just statutory rape of a minor, it was a rape that involved drugging the victim and forcing himself on her despite the fact that she said "no" and was begging him to let her go home. I can't believe that so many people are standing up for this guy simply because he's "a troubled artist".

Yes we can! But we won't!
Obama is all talk, no substance. This isn't unusual for a politician, and it really comes as no surprise. What is unusual are the number of people who still blindly worship him despite the fact that after 9 months as President, "Hope and Change" has proven to be just another campaign slogan.

Michael Moore's "Capitalism: A Love Story"
Srsly? Without capitalism no one would even know who Michael Moore is. The opulent NY premiere for the film makes all of this even more deliciously ironic. It would have made just as much sense if Moore had gone and shot up a school to celebrate the premiere of Bowling For Columbine.

Jon and Kate Plus 8
This. Show. Is. F***ed. Up. I'm not exaggerating. It's f***ed right the hell up.

After hearing about it incessantly in the media for the past few months, I broke down and watched an episode. Now that Jon is leaving the show, they should rename it "The Great Satan plus 8 Exploited Children".

Bernie Goldberg on the O'Reilly Factor
Before he started frequenting Fox News as a guest, I was a huge fan of Bernie Goldberg after reading his book "Bias" back in college. Tonight he called out Fox News on the O'Reilly Factor for presenting commentary as "journalism". THANK YOU.

Which is not to say that the other networks are innocent -- MSNBC and CNN pull the same crap (especially MSNBC).
I read about Polanski's situation in a paper on the train home from Geelong the other day, I'm inclined to agree with you: wtf?
why no flamebait
They're changing it to Kate plus eight.

Roman Polanski was in the wrong? Are you suggesting that there are other ways to get laid?

That blows my mind dawg.
Jon and kate have ugly children.
i'd blame Jon for that one.
Yeah. You don't mix a "kind of" asian guy, with a wierd looking white woman.

Now you just have "hardly" looking asian kids.
Michael Moore's a complete idiot. If you've ever seen An American Carol, they pretty much nailed his idiocy as well as threw in a lot of hilarious sarcastic humor along the way.
That Micheal Moore one just seems too obvious to give him crap over. I don't like the guy but I can't bring myself to label him a hypocrite over it. Its obviously not something he chose to do.

Now if you were to label him a sellout and a hypocrite for his career choices, that would be a different matter entirely.

Why not? His success is built upon capitalism in action. He started out as a small time filmmaker, and because people liked his movies and were willing to pay money to see them, he was able to make more movies on larger budgets and so on.

Michael Moore's career, the fact that anyone knows who he is, and even the existence of his latest film are all results of capitalism. To now turn around and decry the very system that made him what he is to be evil (while continuing to use it and prosper from it) is very hypocritical.

I tried watching An American Carol, but I honestly couldn't handle it after about ten minutes. It was poorly written and acted, and the humor was just too obvious for my tastes. That said, I'm typically pretty harsh when it comes to evaluating movies/TV -- to each his own.

Not that I'm saying I'm a Michael Moore fan, but I'm failing to see how his success has anything to do with his hypocrisy. It's not like his film is saying that nobody can be successful because of capitalism. He's saying that capitalism (on the whole) is making the wealthy wealthier and the number of poor people is increasing.

Whether he's right about that is another story. I just don't see how his personal success has any bearing.

How is it hard to understand this? Have you seen the film? Have you at least read what his final "conclusion" is?

He concludes that capitalism is evil. Not just "a little bit evil", but 100% evil.

Because Michael Moore the film maker would not exist without capitalism, and because he continues to benefit from and willingly partake in the capitalist system, Moore is a hypocrite.

It would be like me suddenly declaring that BYOND Blogging is evil right here on this blog, then continuing to make posts.

You might just want to adopt Jason Voorhes. Can't stand looking at their children, just horrible.
What do you expect him to do? Move to another country and not release his film? You're making it seem like he has some other way to release his films.

His goal was to get his point across to as many people as he can. In order to release any sort of movie in the United States, capitalism is involved. If you're saying that makes him a hypocrite, that it's a catch-22. Either he gives up and tells nobody or he's a hypocrite.

“Look, you know, I mean, I make documentary films,” said Moore. “So, clearly, I’m not loaded in the way you described. But I do well, obviously because my films do well.”

“So, that means I have an extra responsibility to make sure I spend my time trying to make things better for the people that don’t have what I have, right? I mean, everybody should do that,” he said.

Geez dude, how many different ways can something go over your head?

Michael Moore is a product of capitalism. Unless he suddenly gives away the fortune he's made using the system he calls evil and stops making movies for profit from this point forward, he's a complete hypocrite for making this movie.
hypocrisy is america's middle name

i hope you weren't surprised or aghast to see him do this
