"This game is not listed in searches because it is not available for download, and it has not been updated or played in over a month. It will continue to appear in the list of pending alerts on your home page until you make it invisible, provide a download, or host it regularly."

Will making the hub invisible prevent people from seeing the medals, etc they gained through the BYOND site?

I have a hub specifically created to provide medals to an existing game so that I don't have to get access to the main hub, so obviously there will be no download or hosted servers.

Hello everyone, you probably know me as the host of the generally popular goon servers for Space Station 13!

Some things happened within the last few days, that I find exceedingly hilarious, so I thought I'd share it with the general BYOND population.

It all started with Android Data, if you follow Space Station 13 you probably know of this guy. He decided to, let's say, "borrow" (cough) some artwork, and got pretty defensive when myself and others called him out on it.

The next thing took the cake: AZA, who seemingly controls the main website for Space Station 13, sent out bogus legal threats (in PDF form!) to everyone involved with the goon Space Station 13 servers. We all had a very good laugh at the "legal" PDFs.

This is where it gets funny: AZA posts a thread on the ss13.org forums (now deleted), claiming that he was not in fact, the source of the e-mails sent out, and it was some phising attempt.

Naturally, we don't believe him, because the PDF sent out was in fact hosted on his server (hxxp://centration.net/SACeaseandDesist.pdf, now deleted) Others and myself post in said thread about this, calling him out on it. Instead of just defending that he didn't do it, he vehemently deleted our posts.

After all this, a new thread pops up in the "Rants and Raves" section of the ss13.org forums, named "Topic", posted by our beloved AZA.

Typical that I should be the first to post here, but whatever. I gotta blow some steam and put a few facts out there.

First of all - I don't care what you're doing with the source, so long as you don't claim that its all yours. It's Exadv1's creation with bits added on by either yourself or other members of the community.

Second of all, I really don't give two flying shits any more. People keep coming up to me and asking me to do X and Y and I humour them, but honestly, I don't care. I only host this because nobody else would, and I only post here because I have nothing better to do in my free time when I'm not out or at work.

Thirdly, and most importantly, I have not got a single problem with the goons. And yet they still seem to slag me off every opportunity they have, and now seems to have approached on that I'm spouting fake legal bullshit. If I wanted to, I have a solicitor that could do that for me (for a price). Honestly guys, I don't need you to remind me that I have no motivation, that I really can't be arsed with actually doing anything useful, and that I think I'm better than I am.

I'm arrogant.
I'm lazy.
I'm a bit of a prick if I'm in the mood.

But congratulations, I'm one of like, 50% of the internet.

Go find someone else to troll.

If AZA had no motivation to do this, why does he in fact, do this?

Oh yeah, that PDF? Here's a copy.

Should probably abort after the log file gets too large (over several hundred MB, I think).

I woke up to a server locked up in an infinite loop, and a 34GB trace.txt (which happened to fill the filesystem!). :)

I have a hub, which I mark as hidden in the hub settings. In order for the server to appear in the 'Live Games' of the hub, it has to not have -invisible. However, this allows people to see other people on this server since it is not -invisible. Is there a way to have the server add itself to the hub page, but not display in other peoples pagers?

Can a more fine grained preferences be added for task bar alert messages? I like getting alert messages for people whoa re in my Friends list, but not for the games in my Games list.

If this option exists and I somehow missed it, please let me know (note: this does not mean 'uncheck Show alert messages in task bar').

A first 'real' posting I suppose.

I was introduced to BYOND roughly, three weeks ago by another community to the wonderful, heavily flawed, Space Station 13. Unfortunately, it has gone some time without any updates, nor does it look good on the horizon that it will receive any.

BYOND seems like a pretty neat engine for creative work, and I hope to eventually play with making something myself.

(If you're here because you heard about a project of mine, I've no plans to distribute it whatsoever, please do not ask)
