Let's see... where to begin.

For a long time(quite a few years) I've been looking to enter the game design industry(my first real reason for getting BYOND.) But, it wasn't until recently that I've been scouring the net and any other means to look for ways to "break in" to the industry. Now that I'm looking I feel even more hopeless, but I have learned quite a bit. I figure I'll need a degree in Computer Science, along with some other miscellaneous minors. But, first and foremost(since I'm only in highschool) I'd like to learn two things; BYONDcode and C/C++.

Now, from what I've gathered, being able to program in at least C is a healthy start for a career in game design. But, I'd better start learning now in the event that I do take this all the way. The easiest way I've found is to start with small-scale stuff on BYOND and work my way up to small Java/C++/etc. applets.

This is where you, my friends, come in.

I need help finding DM tutorials in programming/mapping/etc. Can anyone help?


MOST IMPORTANTLY: I REALLY need to find C++ literature (C++ Primer Plus was recommended.) Can any of you find me a link or bittorrent file?

I would GREATLY appreciate this help!

As the topic said, it's been awhile... And in the span between the last post and now not much has happened really.... Paintball BYOND is no longer up, unfortunately... The fan base just disappeared... But yeah, that's about all that's new..
