How NOT to act on the forums! in Off Topic

We all see it, every single day. Someone posts for help making a game they want to make, but offers absolutely no help to the project. Or, someone shows off their "100% original" Naruto rip.

Why do you guys feel the urge to eviscerate him all over the forums, making douchebag remarks, and snide comments. Or, twenty-five people making the same comment on how he shouldn't do it.

Here's some points to consider:

1) It makes you look like an ass.
2) If you do it, don't post in the thread again. Don't turn it into a massive flame war.
3) Be polite about it if they genuinely didn't know.
4) The moderators have time and time again deleted posts, warned, and banned users for it. You know it's wrong.


Trust me, it doesn't make you look any cooler, and it doesn't mean you are helping the community any. it's just annoying, and dumb.

Who gives a fuck if it makes anyone look cooler? We don't need any more shitty Naruto games. As long as it isn't obvious trolling or swearing the mods don't have to worry about cleaning up your shit. It all adds up to one less Naruto game. I don't see what your problem is.

As long as nobody is bashing new ideas or original concepts, the Naruto hate on the dev forum is a good thing.

Meh, just don't reply to it. After posting about your new creation five times without seeing any replies, you'll get the message that no one cares or something..I did when I was looking for icon artists..0_0

Thats exactly the fucking problem. They dont post any ideas or concepts at all. They for some reason think someone is going to "steal" their ideas(wtf?) all they do is stick 100% ORIGINAL in bold on their post expecting a flock of experienced programmers to beg at their feet. When this doesnt happen, they spend the entire day bumping the topic.

They come here first instead of obvious places....And don't think not replying will stop them. They'll just repost it 3 more times the next day.

SuperAntX, I actually chuckled a little bit when you got on that guy about "wasting hub space"...

As though he was squatting what someone else needed...

Anyone who understands anything about databasing can explain to you how stupid of a thing that is to worry about.

A hub entry takes up such a minuscule amount of space, that if every key on BYOND were to have a hundred entries, I'm sure the effect would be unnoticeable.

Oh, wait, did I just use my brain? Oh my!
