Out of Boredom Comes a Game

Well, I haven't had much to say lately, since, well, nothing was going on.

Recently, I came upon an open BETA game called GunZ Online -a free FPS that is actually quite fun to play.

GunZ Online International Edition

It used to be a game played throughout Korea and Japan, and now is floating over to Europe and America. The open Beta is for grammar fixes and such, since they have to translate everything.
(Though, it is quite amusing to go the the Korean site).

The leveling system is great. It takes practically a whole day to get about 5 levels. The items you can buy are very customizable, and tey ave a good wieght system so nobody can equip over a weight limit. All guns in it are used in different ways and occasions, so it's wise to get each type and see what's best for you :)
(Personally I get Magnum x2 and a Breaker 5 (shotgun with 5 rounds per magazine and 19 total shots).

They have 3 types of grenades:

a) Explosive Grenade - explodes and hurts people.
b) Smoke Grenade - Spews smoke to obscure the view
c) Flash Bang Grenade (my favorite) - makes your ears ring and your sight go blind temporarily.

They also have swords! You can get Daggers, Kantanas, or Kodachis (twin swords). There are matches that you can do which can be guns only, swords only, and such. It's really fun.

Also, you can climb / hang with your swords, run along the walls, run up the walls, even block bullets with your sword!

There are two types of dashes:
1) sword dash -
2) Reg. Dash - more like a lunge roll. You can fire your weapon / throw a grenad

So far, many BYONDers have discovered this game, and these are some that I've seen on it:

Thorg - lago
Radioactive Mokey - Radio
Volte - volte
Digital Squirrel- DigiSqrrl
Mertek - Mertek**
ZeroCrash - ZeroCrash
Scoobert - Scoobert**
Elation - Elation
Hell Ramen -Issu
Artekia - Artekia
Hikato - Hikato
KingGunnerblast - [Ian]

*note that I don't have everyone's GunZ name on this list; I just know they play it. Also, I don't you can't add people unless they are online because I guess they don't have a name server.

**note that the names with these (**) are names that I am unsure about.

I will add to the list as I see more people from BYOND on it. Also, you can tell me if you play it.

Since it's free, many people try to get into the servers, which are usually full. So, you'll ahve to spend a few minutes trying to get in.

High School is Officially OVER! For me, that is =)

Wow. I did my final exams last week. For me, English , World History, an Biology were the easiest (though in English I had to write an essay.) I was .26% away from exempting my Bio exam. =)

When I took my Biology exam, I didn't know half of the questions, since I got a teacher switch, and he forgot to go over Anatomy. Well, that sucked. So, he said that whatever you get right in those, he'll give some many Extra credit points for every few you get right. A good deal for me! My brain was bouncin' off the walls, so to speak =)

But no, he had decided half way through the freakin' exam to print off a different set of questions! Gawd, that was horrible.

So, I have about 5 minutes and 65 questions to go, so I scribble furiously through my answer sheet (one of those Scantron [bubble-in the correct answer]) some answers.

Guess what I get on the final?

I get an 89%!
Talk about luck!

Then yesterday, I had to return a pink "book card" for a $25 deposit slip back. I spent about 25 minutes in line like the other students, waiting to get my refund. As I get up there, I tell her my name and school I.D.

Then, she says,
"I'm sorry, but you need to go to the line on the far right to pay for book damage fines. See that really fat lady? the one who is sweaty and is wearing a baby blue T-shirt witht the flower denstist-style pants? Wait in that line."

My mind did a backflip.

I was cursing under my breath at how she was making fun of that women in front of everyone, and secondly, that I coudln't just pay upfront. UGH! That made me so mad! They are so f@$%ing un-organized! (Yet they are the most popular school in town, and get the most money over all the scools in Rockford.)

So, I wait another 20 minutes in line to pay for the fine, then waited another 40 minutes (the line got busier and longer) to get my book deposit refund. I was stuck behind someone who smelled like they didn't know what a shower was. That... was so... gross! Trust me. I wanted to mug someone for a few cans of AXE bodyspray and spray the crap outta him.

What was supposed to be 30 minutes of my life turned out to be about an hour and a half. Trust me, you'd never want to be around someone with a stench like that. Especially a person who's in High school or older.

*shudders*

Anyways, good luck on the rest of your exams!
Also, tell me about your adventures at school.

Some Graphics Work and Weather

One of my other "skinnings" I did was for phpBB. I used some of the same images I did on my forum.

Check out the WinXP_MCE and it's dark version today! It was sent a few days ago, and hopefully will be published in their wonderful library of templates.

Also, I got a neat book on JAVA programming called Head First Java. It's easier to read under pressure, and for younger people out there, but It's good for anyone. Even the creater of Java, James Gosling, commented on the book.
"It's fast, irreverent, fun, and engaging!"

On another note, there was a major storm last night in Rockford, IL, that went on from 10:00pm until about 5:30am. Talk about nasty weather! Also, some idiots went outside in our neighborhood and decided it was "cool" to shoot fireworks while it was lightning out like every second or two. Now that's very idiotic, might I say.

Byond Members -- Subscribing is Worth It

I have been hearing that 15 bucks for a year is too much. I would still get a membership if it were 50 bucks a year. I alreasdy spend about 20 bucks a month for various subscriptions to games and stuff of the sort, so why not BYOND? It's almost a dollar a month. Now, who couldn't give a dollar per month? $15 is how much buying a high school lunch for three days costs. It's hardly antything.

Besides, it's for the good of our great friends at Dantom International! They also have a neat little shop on their website so you can get some cool gear! The money that they make will help pay for the servers at DreamHost and maybe other places.

Anyways, I'm going to subscribe, and I hope fellow BYONDers will, too. It really helps keep BYOND alive.

That means you, gug, and many other BYOND-scapers :)

Fumbling with the CSS.

I've been spending some time fumbling with the CSS so far, it looks fairly better than before (my oppinion of course). Also, if you think something looks out-of-place, just send a comment.

In the mean time, if you want to play some Halo 2 (if I'm on, that is), add this

P.S. I know, I know. The title text color looks a little fun-kay, but I have run out of time for today's work. Time for bed.
