You apparently earn money for every spam mail you read(Note: You cannot recieve the money until you accumulate $25 worth atleast) and people you refer. I am going to try it out with a specialy made email address and read all the spam I can. Take my refferal to the pyramid.

Note: Use a specialy made email address for spam then use your real paypal account to receive payment.

I have always like to read my spam, why not get paid to do it? :) If this is acctually legit then it would be pretty cool for those who don't skip an email.
4. Referral Income (level two): Earn $0.01. When your direct referrals refer others, you earn $0.01 for them reading the emails we send them.

Does that mean if I refer someone, since I was refered by you, you will also get the referal $? If so- everyone go here! :-)

<EDIT>
So, it's $.02 a mail right? And it says the max is 5 emails a day. 5*2=10 So $.10 a day. You need $25, so .10*x=25 x=250 250 days for 25 bucks. Sure it barely takes effort, but dang that's a long time. >_>

<EDIT*2>
Although, if you recruited 20 people who all did the 5 emails a day, thats $1.00 more a day. 1.02*x=25 x=24.5 Only 24 and a half days! A buck a day! Not bad!! Thats a pretty nice income, if everyone did every email every day.
Imagine getting 100 people...
US and Canada only

Damn them and their anti Australian site.

Good point, but I have known people who do these in most of their free time and make a good suplimental income. There are lots of sites out there offering the same thing. He tryed to get me to do it too, but I hate spam, and will not support it. They think that it is doing them some good because of those sites.

You're going to get spam no matter what, why not make money off of it? You probably don't even have to read it, just open it, then delete it.

Yay! all my buttons work again! I can probably stay with my keyboard for a few more years!!!

As you said, and I agree completely, you hate spam and would never support it. Is it a good way of making money, reading spam? Is it constructive, interesting, building?

If people stop caring about that, we will all soon be robots that moves when you put a quarter in them.

And if the people you know makes money and think that spam is a good thing, tell them to think again. If you are interested in how much spam really hurts the net, check out http://spamcon.org/about/

Yeah, and people are also going to get robbed no matter what, so why not make money of that too?

I absolutely hate spam, once I even sent a rather gruesome virus to someone who sent me spam, but the point is, if you have e-mail,you'll get spam. Now,I did not go out and sign up for it and wait a minute...I'm defending the side I don't like. ignore my previous comment.

Egads. There's just no excuse for sending viruses around, and it's a bad idea because it can lose you your Internet access if the outgoing e-mail gateway catches it or someone reports it.

Moreover, it's very rare for spam to actually come from the address it lists as the sender. You probably sent a virus to a dead address or an innocent person. Nice move!

Don't play with viruses. Nothing good comes of it.

Ok, I'm ignoring it. :) Just wanted to say that you are right, people are probably going to get spam no matter what. But supporting in only increases it, even for people like you and me who hates it. It's not like they're giving money away. The spammers must benefit on allowing people to make money on reading spam, otherwise they would never do it. And that is something I would never, ever support.

Heh. you haven't seen my computer system. i may not have money, but my computer is stat-of-the-art. I can trace files/emails/etc. easily. Don't think I can be fooled. Besides, I can't remember, but the virus may have went to one of those chain-email senders. Most pf them aren't smart enough to go through that process. Of course, it is likely they check e-mail at thelibrary or something. thats what I do =) If thats the case, some library has a down computer, but it didn't attack any personal files. If its the virus I'm thinking of though, I just hope it wasn't a kid who opened the email...
But relax, the virus was programmed to delete itself in two weeks. I'm not sure if it did, but it was supposed to.

If I send a virus to each and every spammer, maybe that'd stop them. of course, a spammer with a good tracer could get me arrested...

Look, it doesn't matter 'how good your computer system is', or whether you can track email addresses or not.

You're still a script-kiddy, and a gloating one at that.

As Lummox said, sending viruses around is a bad idea, someone could get hurt.

.....Script-kiddy =P

Unless someone had guns attached to their computer or something, how could someone get hurt? Besides, depending on the type of virus, sometimes no damage could be done at all. For instance, once I made a virus where everytime they logged onto the internet, it would cut them right back off. It was a rather simple virus to fix, but who cares. I never sent that one out though because all you had to do was restart the computer. It really just dependson how bad they tic me off. One time I was watching my little sister when she was on one of the KOL chat rooms. When the people started talking about sex and stuff, I sent them everything in my armory. I used to be evil and had every little device to help me obtain viruses without getting harmed. Most of it was illegal, but i don't have it anymore, so what are they going to do?

exactly what is "script-kiddy" supposed to mean anyway?

The person who had their time wasted by a moron, that's who cares.
Anyway, are you sure it was a 'virus'? Not just a file/exe?

Right.

Then you're a script-kiddy. Write your own code, don't take other people's programs.

Most of it was illegal, but i don't have it anymore, so what are they going to do?

Arrest you for criminal damage?
"I don't have the corpse anymore, what are they going to do?"

Your a script kiddy. Viruses are bad, they cause no one any good.

I hope some one owns your "state of the art" computer with a virus and you cry.

I'm gonna whip out the duh card here and remind you that it's absolutely impossible to get an actual correct return e-mail address from spam if the spammer chooses to falsify one or leave theirs out. Duh!

Spammers pretty much don't read return mail even if they're capable of receiving it. But if theoretically somebody opened that on a library computer, you did just infect an innocent party.

If its the virus I'm thinking of though, I just hope it wasn't a kid who opened the email...

Great, sounds like you opened a whole Pandora's box there of legal trouble. Sending viruses is illegal in the first place and whether anyone opens it or not, if your ISP is even half awake they'll start keeping a closer eye on what you send.

But relax, the virus was programmed to delete itself in two weeks. I'm not sure if it did, but it was supposed to.

See, this is immaterial next to the fact that you deliberately sent out a virus. I don't know how I could have made this clearer in the last post, but to summarize: It's a very very bad thing. It doesn't matter who you're sending it to or why. The point is it endangers other systems along the way and puts you in a whole lot of trouble if anyone ever finds out. And it's not like it'd be hard for an ISP's outgoing mail system to detect that.

What's so much more alarming is that you're possessed of several delusions here, all of which you must break:

  • The delusion that you can actually control viruses safely
  • The delusion that sending out viruses is more or less harmless no matter who receives them
  • The delusion that there are no consequences for being the person who sent a virus, regardless of whether it was opened
  • The delusion that you can trace spam back to an actual e-mail address more than 1% of the time
  • The delusion that what happens to another computer doesn't matter, even if you're the reason it happens

This isn't just bad behavior; it's dangerous, it's criminal, and it's just not too bright! You're opening yourself to a world of trouble for no good reason. Don't be proud of it. If you're really upset about spam, go do something useful like join cauce.org or support the humorous work of Jonathan Land. Heck, do what I do and put Sanford Wallace's head on your wish list. But do not send viruses to anyone, unless you're reporting some new strain to an antivirus company.
