If you're not aware of the guild that existed on Gekisen than it's your loss really. The players, although not all, have stuck together for years now and we've dominated many games. The guild consists of some of the most intelligent and most hilarious people I've met on BYOND. Also, there are other people that have never been in the guild that fall under the same category.

The point is that we're going to be playing GOA, we're loyal, we're intelligent, we're skilled, and we're hilarious. Sure, there will be a large population of morons, but that's reality, since you'll come across morons one way or another in your daily life.

My best advice would be to hang out with your friends rather than worry about a troublesome community.

I know for sure that the people I associate myself with are some of the funniest guys that I know. We like having a good laugh, we do not seek to trash other games or steal property.

We are not the low of byond. I'm not saying we are not people that should be modeled after, but we do have our fun, but still in an intelligent way.

I don't want you to get me all wrong, I'm a big anime fan. I used to play a bunch of different anime games (DBEO, LOTD) and then I worked on making my own.

One of the main reasons that we (propaganda) most likely won't be making a Naruto game is because we don't want to deal with the players. I'm going to sound like a dick, but frankly because there are a lot of idiots out there.

Agreed with 2Shea/Gotenson11, personally i think the low on byond consist of the people you call friends. Oh yeah, and uh, the reason people could even download the source code to NBotLS was because I hosted it and I had over 600gb of available bandwidth. BigBoiD's blog got shut down pretty fast(by both the staff and bandwidth restrictions.

I think over 50gb of bandwidth was spent solely on the source code.

In reality, GOA does have quite the dedicated player base. On our private invisible server(which is Alpha), we carry a constant 30+ players. Now the majority of these players played GOA during the open alpha, and also played Dan's previous game.

The point is, no, GOA may not have some huge loyal player base like retail games and such do, but no byond games do. But this doesn't lessen the fact that GOA will keep an insanely high player count for a very long time. I struggle to see in any way that it would just drop in popularity.

Also our training system is unlike any other Naruto game. No (insert random object here) training. So try out our system before you knock it.

Ranks don't mean much of anything, but it does show that at least some people do support the game. We have never asked anyone to rank GOA or anything like that.

To end this, why can we just not move on and just enjoy (or not) the game? If you like it then great, if not well then you don't have to play it. The simple fact is, that GOA has all this hype around it for a reason. Yes it may not be perfect and every tiny way, but when it gets down to it, its pretty damn fun to play.

Dragonmaster, I do not have to back up either of these (although I never mentioned 'you will fail', I'm just applying previous knowledge of the BYOND community to the situation).
Games like GOA have absolutely no loyal player base, that is a fact.
Like it has been over the years, people spend a few days training on a log before someone else makes a Naruto game where you train on a tree, and they go play that one.

I haven't seen anything different from those games in GOA, and I don't see it happening in the future release.

(Although I do intend on playing it.
If it's not the best game I've ever played, I will be severely disappointed.)

The guy who proved the ranking system was ineffective didn't give out any benefits, because the hub entry didn't contain an actual game.
There was no game in sight to be played.

And yes, I can draw parallels to the two.
It doesn't matter if they give perks or not, every other week there was a new ranked #1 Dragonball Z game for half a year, and there were absolutely no benefits then.

I never made anything up, and I don't see where you're coming to this conclusion.

You have no way of determining these people have been loyal to your games for any period of time. All you asked was 'did you play Gekisen at one point in time', which could have been yesterday for 5 minutes. (if they're playing games like GOA, they probably have played Gekisen)

The fact that some guy made a game to show how the ranking system is ineffective, and proved that it was by his game reaching rank #1, is completely relevant to the fact that you think you're the coolest thing since Fonzie because your anime based game (with absolutely no depth as far as character progression goes, which is the popular thing among the BYOND community) was ranked #1.
