Just one of a few series of touching up before I form the game into a playable state. I didn't really like the old one... lol
They're both good if you ask me. I can't really form an opinion here.
Nicely Done. Keep it up!
The new one is definitely cleaner and more intuitive.

Also, I like how the person who's punching has his face turned away like a pansy.

That's his ear, not his nose... Haha

It doesn't look like a nose, it looks like his eyes with a furrowed brow right above. :P
God why are you so good at stuff, but good job!
I think the bar in which you type to talk should be underneath the chat box. That's just me though. Nice job on the game so far! You've motivated me to start my rpg project up again :).
Very nice! Keep it up!
Much, much, much better.

Nah, then the things above and below the input bar will look clogged up, you have to take style into consideration.
i like the new one better. one little thing. maybe take the ellipses out from after chat? detracts ever so slightly professionally.

Don't you think it fits the theme?
Really nice! Did this require a lot of hackery to get going, or was it fairly straightforward. I hear a lot of complaints about the difficulty in making 4.0 interfaces but nothing really concrete, so if it is a headache, let us know (in the forums) what we can improve on.

No doubt the result is awesome, at least!
I'm glad you guys like it! As for the ellipses, I feel they carry on the chat concept below.

I don't really have room for an input box below the output box while maintaining a clean layout, and I figured having it below the map wouldn't detract from the possibility of being ambushed.

I am actually rather flattered people are as excited about my work as I am, I put a lot of time and effort into it.

As for the dodging animation, that's what a miss looks like, hits will connect. I'm sure it'll look a lot better once eyes, hair and clothes are a part of the model.

... You sir are actually the one of the last people I expected to comment on my blog, lol. But it didn't take too much effort when I was putting it into motion, the hard part was the design phase. Create a few graphics, piece them together... The assembly phase was rather simple.

It flows pretty nicely too (server side at least), I think the biggest problem people have with BYOND 4.0 is that they stink at design (Or at least have very little reference to generate ideas, I scrounged through google for ideas at least 20-30 times). Personally I think 4.0+ is brilliant, it's everything I was hoping for years ago. I'm sure I'll have some gripes at play time down the line, but it's not like the project is going to be preserved in whatever state it is in now.

EDIT: Actually the one complaint I have with BYOND 4.0 is that it's so hard to find information on how to make things work properly... I'll probably make a post on the forums about this.

The real question is, are you doing anything about it? Everything I mention gets shrugged off.

Pfft, with a response like yours, I'd say no.

In reguards to the interface, It looks nice. You'd might want to have separate chat panel, though.

That's because you let people walk on you.

Looks good, definitely an improvement. I like the look of the top-right section. I also like the way you're using translucent HUD objects.
