I figured if I get this going in the right direction, and build it from front to back instead of different sections all over the place, I might enjoy my progress a little more since I get to see it as I go. I also changed the name "Sayn" to "Sapyn", I know it doesn't seem like a huge difference but I figured it'd be safer to make them sound like "Sapien" rather than "Saiyan" since I went with the monkey-like barbaric look.
After the features (the dwarf's beards for example) I will finally get down to drawing the clothing and then work on the spells and combat. Good news is that from Christmas Eve till January 2nd I get paid time off from work due to plant shutdown, and my betrothed doesn't :). This means that at the rate I'm going, it's very likely I can get this to a playable state by the middle of that week. For some reason it's alot easier to progress with this game in pixel art and originality than it was trying to make a pretty Dragonball Z game... Probably because I know what I want and I can do what I want and get away with it this way, when I was limited and had a thousand ideas on how to do multiple things the other. Either way that's my goal, unless I hit some sort of snag you should see me hosting it sometime that week.
I also wanted to cover PvP a bit since I forgot to do it last post...
PVP
. . . . . .
I've decided instead of having player-run guilds, the game will focus around two preset guilds: "The Hand of Destiny" and "The Shield of Avalon". These are two player-based guilds managed by reputation, for the story they are both somewhat on the good side although their definitions of good waiver. "The Hand of Destiny" is more of an empire-type guild, where they focus on rule, law and claiming whatever they wish in the name of their clan in order to defeat their threats.
"The Shield of Avalon" on the other hand is more of a druid guild. They war on the ideals of total freedom and protection of the lands and all living things, rather than just the mortal races. Both guilds are opposing "The Cult of the Damned", which is purely NPC and run by Necrolord Ravyn (The main threat of the game thus far) and his possession of 'The Book of the Damned'.
Within both guilds players raise ranks based on reputation, which can be gathered by completing tasks, slaying opposition, and combating for resources. At level 20 players have the option to enlist in a guild or remain mercenary. Any time afterward you can join a guild but once you do so it's permanent for that player, mercenaries don't get as many tasks and awards as a guilded player, but at the same time they have no risk of being attacked by players of an opposing guild nor can they fight for resources or get resource bonuses. When you become guilded you are flagged for PvP and cannot unflag, so do so at your own risk.
When guilded however you can participate in the battles for resources which give buffs to the beholder, these battles all take place at different times, twice every 12 hours and those resources + bonuses are...
The Mines +5% gold looted.
The Farmlands +5% increased stats.
The Armory +5% damage done.
The Mage Towers +5% experience gained.
Each area will be uniquely setup for combat, and each will require different objectives to win the battle depending on whether you're defending or attacking. After the battle, NPCs will stand guard and the banners will change to represent your guild.
I'll post more on that and combat in the future but for now I leave you with an updated screenie of the character creation.

Edit: Also note that no race has access to all 7 classes to fit their lore better.
