Well my goals for this week seemed simple enough and in reach, but honestly I don't think I'll accomplish them as early as I had hoped. My plan was to have this game in a testing state sometime this week (actually I was shooting for today).

While I hadn't hit any walls in my progress or faced any lack of time to work on the game, somehow I'm still not quite there yet. The interface is almost completed, character creation is done and the combat system is in the works (It's not that difficult so that should be done tomorrow). Honestly, I don't think I realized exactly how much time something simple like designing the interface to work properly would take :p.

I do plan on having this up and running relatively soon, not with the finished map or most of the content, but enough to test out the basic stuff so that I can push forward. The art is gonna set me back a little bit as far as time goes, but it's nothing to complex and half of my turfs are edits from free resources I've found on various sites, so that should save me a bit of work. I still need to design armor, weapons, and some more feature-overlays (human facial hair for example) as well as actually define and draw everything for the combat system... lol. Everything works tho! It just doesn't look pretty yet... or actually have any content... but it works!

lol, I'll keep working steadily and if I'm lucky enough to get all this (simple but in high quantity) art done I can finally host the test. Currently I plan on keeping it open for the first time so I can check the server load, but with the music files and sound effects all added my .rsc file is well over 12MB, so I'm gonna have to find some sort of outside bandwidth to leech my downloads from or we'll have a bunch of people yelling at me for download lag.

Well back to work, figured I'd just throw some random nonsense about the game out there to vent/share... Oh and I guess I'll show you guys what I got so far in terms of progress (you'll see what I mean by no content)

I apologize for all of the nudity.

Lookin' good.
I laughed so hard at the Rewards: 0 and stuff for "The Main Objective".
;)

i cried because it's a tragic truth of those few very high quality BYOND games

it looks very very good, though. this and NEStalgia (although i don't expect to play the latter much) are the two games i'm looking forwards to sharing with people outside of BYOND, because they deserve a larger audience and can certainly attract it
Nice.
Honestly this is looking way better than FOL. Pretty good :)
@Maximus_Alex2003:
I'm glad you got the joke, and as Zaole pointed out it's kinda true. To me though the reward is playing my own game.

@Zaole & Naruske999:
Thanks, I'm just hoping my game delivers where I'd like it to in forms of entertainment. Hopefully it can support a decent audience or I may be looking into outside hosting.

@Rasengan3oo4:
Thank you, it's probably looking a little more organized (if anything else) than FOL because I actually know what I want to/can do with everything, so I'm not hitting any walls. Honestly while I was working on a DBZ game I found myself so limited that I couldn't progress any further while keeping it somewhat DBZ (I wanted an adventure game not just combat), at least with this I've found nothing in my way that I can't overcome with a little research.
Looks cool man. Keep it moving.
Maybe because I don't play a lot of MMOs and such, but that creation makes me think of WoW
I think if you play WoW for a little while, no matter what you play online it'll remind you of WoW. They don't call it Warcrack for nothing.
where's my folz
It saved up moneys for genre change operation.
