Hello Byond.

I like games with atmosphere.

I like standing in place for a while and taking in the sounds and sights of an area in a game.

I like puzzles and I like tricky challenges.

I also love exploring places and finding new things.

I love Knytt.

It doesn't take too long to play all the way through but it really is fun to play.

Sound is very much advised for this game - it uses sound a lot to deliver the mood.
OH NO YOU JUST DIDN'T

Oh crap, sorry!
Don't be sorry, I liked it! Your edit is better worded - it is a platformer, not a sidescroller. But that's fine by me because I love platformers. =)

Just finished it now, only took a couple of hours. Time well spent.

The wall-climbing is an excellent touch; more platformers should have that.
Longcat is loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong, like this download.

You need to upgrade your internet.

And the fact that I'm saying that is really, really sad. >_>
I agree with Crispy here. When he says stuff it's usually pretty sad.

This coming from emo boy...
Well y'see there's the thing. When I say stuff, it's sad as in unhappy. When you say stuff, it's sad as in LOSER

Edit: just kidding, you're not a loser. You're a criminal. :) (australia'd)

THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RECENT CRICKET-BASED HAPPENINGS =(
Yeah, well, at least I don't have Tony Blair as Prime Minister! Nyah!

Oh, wait, I've got John Howard... crap. That's nearly as bad. :-(

THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RECENT CRICKET-BASED HAPPENINGS =(

Who's the loser now, eh? ;-)
We originally rejoiced when Tony came to power. Now we've all realised he's a better tory than John Major ever was... :(

I don't know that much about Australian politics... most of the stuff I know I picked up from Jp's grumblings to me, although I usually just zone-out at that point.

To be honest I could probably guess what australian politics is like- pretty much indentical to how it is over here.

On one hand, you've got conservative scumbags you can't trust, on the other you've got labour who are just tories in disguise, and in the middle you've the liberals who are sitting on the fence so much that they've become just about as interesting and politically viable as the aforementioned garden fence.
Add a sprinkling of lies, corruption and a strange inability to sympathise with all other human beings and you've got yourself a democratic nation!
Not quite - we've only got a choice of two evils (Liberal and Labor), not three.

The Liberal party has been in power almost since I can remember. Their modus operandi is to stay there using cheap tricks and outright lies. Labor is a bumbling wreck that only gets any votes any more because people want the Liberals out. (Though a recent leadership change may help their image - here's hoping.)

John Howard wants to build nuclear reactors to provide us with power, under the guise of reducing our greenhouse gas emissions (seriously, since when has he given a crap about those?).

It has been suggested that, in view of the water crisis in the country (hey Elation can we borrow some of your rain?), and the perceived need for desalination plants to counter this, the nuclear reactors and desalination plants could be built together to take advantage of common facilities.

Hello? Am I the only one who sees the problem with this? Radioactive waste being produced in the same place as our water supply... dear god. Sure, it's perfectly safe so long as the two never meet, but given the abysmal safety record of the nuclear industry in this country (mostly uranium mining, but also leaks from our one nuclear reactor), I think we have a right to be wary. The water supply of entire cities is at stake, for crying out loud.

Some of the minor parties are offering some scant hope, though. Like the Greens, who seem to be the only political party with any sense, and are starting to make a noticeable splash in the elections. The Democrats are okay too, but they have a nasty habit of running themselves through with their own swords. They've been essentially dead for a long time (ever since their former leader sold out to the ruling Liberal party, breaking most of her election promises in the process).

On the other hand, you also have the minor parties like Family First, whose policy platform involves burning lesbians as witches. They're basically the local chapter of the US Religious Right. (You can always spot them because they have the word "family" in their name. See, for example, the American "Institute for Media and the Family". Cough, cough, splutter.)

It's a sad reflection of some corners of Australian society (QUEENSLAND I'M LOOKING AT YOU) that Family First is nearly as popular as the Greens.

We may be ruled by despotic bastards, but at least we have FREEDOM! JUSTICE! and the AMERICAN WAY!!
hey Elation can we borrow some of your rain?

If only that were possible... our two nations would make a killing. We'd export rain to you guys and you could export sunshine to us. :P

The Green party are getting more support over here, too. Which is definitely a good thing... we need governments that put the environment first over things like the economy and military power... I'm sick of politicians who just address it as a side note in order to gain popularity. "Oh yeah, we're doing something about global warming. Yeah trust us we'll do something about it eventually".

On the other hand, you also have the minor parties like Family First

Yeah, we have our own version of that too- the BNP (British National Party. Any party with the word "national" in their name can totally be trusted...). Check this out (from the wiki article:

"According to its constitution[3] the BNP "stands for the preservation of the national and ethnic character of the British people and is wholly opposed to any form of racial integration between British and non-European peoples", and is "committed to stemming and reversing the tide of non-white immigration and to restoring, by legal changes, negotiation and consent the overwhelmingly white makeup of the British population that existed in Britain prior to 1948". To achieve this aim, the BNP advocates the use of "firm but voluntary incentives" to remove ethnic minorities from the UK. Membership of the party is restricted to "Indigenous Caucasians.""

"The BNP denies that it is racist, however, stating that it is merely standing up for the white British working class. The party believes that racism is a part of human nature and therefore describes its supporters as "realists"."

That said, they're not that popular... but there are people living here that don't think the BNP as the joke that they are.

And then everyone would win and there would be sunshine and green grass and bunny rabbits!!!

Yeah. Our current government is completely obsessed with the economy. Nothing else matters to them.

Heh. We have our own National party, which is right-wing but not quite that right-wing. They're in coalition with the Liberals, but it's a very one-sided coalition; the Nationals don't seem to get a lot out of it...

Jesus. Reminds me of our (thankfully defunct) One Nation Party, except worse. "I'm not racist, I just hate black people."
