Chat in Off Topic

For those of you who don't already know, I have been updating chat and it is now back up and hosted 24/7! ( see; byond://72.211.160.170:1000 )

Chat started out as troll-bait for Chatters regulars, but hopefully can start a little more fresh with some new support (including the old supporters). The program has been enhanced greatly since its last debut, and is much more efficient.

Some features include;
- Block / Unblock
- Profiles
- Medals (soon to be implemented to hub.)
- Fully customizable color schemes
- Showcode/text
- Customizable user setting
- Private Messaging windows
and all the fun of a friendly community built up of regular gamers, and BYOND game developers.

comments and criticism is welcome though, as long as it's done in a decent manner.

One chat program on BYOND is one too many. I'd rather not see a repeat of the "chat program war" that took place back in '05-'06. It's pointless, fruitless, and serves to do nothing but create more havens for the trolls to hang out at.

People should just leave the Chatters community in their sad little corner of the world to rot and spend their time making games. Every BYOND game has some functional form of chatting, so what's the point?

The point is uniqueness, yes every game has a form of chatting but the way its done and how its handle along with type of moderation and pre-loaded filters and whatnot also are taken into consideration. Yes I admit Chatters is by far the most advanced chatting game a chat program can get, and not to mention on top of all that its open source. But this is Build Your Own Net Dream and if he dreams of a Chat game then he shall make one.

More chat programs equal more software diversity. Some people might not like Chatters' looks, functionality and whatnot.

It's a wretched hive of villainy where all of the mean people on BYOND congregate. Apparently we're the worse of the worse BYOND has to offer, or something to that effect. I don't know.

That's biased. There's at least a hand full of decent BYOND members there.
