I have been playing Final Fantasy Legacy ever since that day. When I started, the area of Damcyan was still fairly new, and Milon(a boss) was the toughest thing the players could fight. I joined the world as a White Mage name Leighla and pretended to be a girl. It fooled most people. However, There actually were a few people smart enough to realize my key is Uhfrank and if you had looked it up, it stated I was a male. Two(2) weeks after joining, the servers host, Ethos(Key: Oreldwin) logged in and I noticed his red letters. I was just recently given a custom icon before hand to play around with on my computer and I made my own to look like "Leighla". Anyway, as I was saying. Ethos came on and I didn't know at the time custom icons were only able to be given by those with "Admin" status. So, as the new player that I was, I ask him if I could upload an icon, because I saw his name was red, and surprisingly I was given the upload icon command. I uploaded it and had my icon changed the Leighla icon that I made. Leighla is a real person might I add. A good friend of mine. From then on, pretending to be a girl got easier because of my female icon. The icon got me noticed and brought a lot of attention. People liked it and requested that I made them one. Slowly it became a job and I was getting requests even from the Game Moderators(GM)! Loud, the creator even caught my icon talent after two months of playing and asked me to work for him as his icon maker. I was honored and greatly accepted. Some time later, we are in march now, I finally admitted to the world that I was actually a guy. Many were shocked, but still loved me the same due to my reputation. I made many icons and when May thirteenth(13) hit, I was made a Game Moderator by Nadrew, who was Admin at the time. This is about the time where Nadrew was slowly taking over the server and eventually, a couple months later. Ethos' server officially died. It was a sad day, and we went a few months without that game. One day, out of no where, some kid suddenly starts hosting Loud's FFL, he goes by the name of Lance. He wasn't a very good Admin. In fact, he was the worst. Putting aside what Lance did wrong, Nadrew slowly convinced him into updating Lance's server, which not slowly this time, but quickly led to Nadrew gaining full control. About all of the Final Fantasy Legacy players at the time finally made him quit hosting, where Nadrew became the new host. He kept the game alive for us for a long period of time. He updated, although not very often. He did update, which is more than we would of gotten without him. He added silly things like mazes to the next towns, and each maze multiplied in difficulty by three-hundred times, as well as his server kept crashing due to him trying to add too many advanced features to the game. Eventually he got fed up with the crashes and stopped hosting around the time of October. Luckily, I got my hands on the source code for version two(2) of Final Fantasy Legacy. It was full of bugs, and I had a lot of difficulty setting up my router so I could host, but eventually I got it going and gave people a hope by hosting the lesser Final Fantasy Legacy I had. I updated the best I could and kept trying new things, experimenting. It became Christmas season and a friend suggested I could make it christmas themed, I liked the idea, so I decided to decorate the place with snow and decorations. I liked the effect, although it did cause lag. Nadrew felt a bit sorry for my version so he gave me an updated host file for his version. I have to admit his version was better than what I could ever produce with the code I had. So, I hosted his. I took full control, however, and started making a lot of poor decisions. I was very unexperienced as a control keeper or even an "Admin". Nadrew was fed up with my actions which lead to him being motivated to host and update again, we are now reaching February, from February to May he supplied us with updates, which were increasingly difficult yet again. Between the unsolvable puzzles, team of five(5) level ninety-nine(99) players being required to get to the next area, and abusive control behavior, Ren and Rog organized to take over and asked for my help. I accepted although I was okay with Nadrew's actions, I would like to see some decent updates rather than ridiculous updates. Ren was nice enough to trust me with the version three(3) source code for Final Fantasy Legacy. I updated a lot of stuff in a short amount of time. When my motivation was really high and I was excited to actually be able to update, I added things left right and center until I completely ran out of ideas or useful suggestions. Slowly, with each update, Rog, intentionally or not started making fun of my updates, which was okay at first, but then those insults seem to get more serious and believable. Which made me feel like crap, and it eventually came to a point where I lost all motivation to work on the game. I dropped from Admin and gave up trying to input any form of opinion as to how my server should be run. At the end of August of this year. I finally gave up hosting, and gave up on the game completely. I didn't have any interest in the game in any way anymore. On September fifth(5) Wrath(Wrath_Child22) and his buddy Flash(Flash_war) gave me a wake up call. They helped me deal with what was bothering me. Then, also gave me my motivation back, and pushed me into taking full control. I made a quick update, cleared the GM list, and before you know it, I was in control. FFL was destined for updates again. Near the end of September, Ethos came back from the dead! We had a discussion and because of his history with the game. I knew he could shape Final Fantasy Legacy to the way it should always have been. He took charge and told me what to put in for it to work. Even though it's still in progress, the new system is working a lot better. In early October, Loud resurfaced. I was so happy to see him again. He banned Nadrew and KnightRen and changed the hub message to show Oreldwin had equal rights to the game as Loud. My updates were beginning to lack, as I was loing motivation again due to people treating me like shit. This time I quit working on the game. A year later, I decide to come back and now things are looking better. I can code a lot better and am understanding a heck of a lot more. Wont be long before I finish Final Fantasy Legacy. I would say a few more months area-wise, and overall, perhaps a year from now. This is my story. My games |
