ALT+F4 on browser windows in BYOND Discussion

Operating System: Windows XP Home

Web Browser: FireFox

Detailed Problem Description:

Unless it is intended, I don't think that browser windows should be closable using ALT+F4 if can_close is set to 0, since it defeats the purpose of not being able to close the window.

Does the problem occur:
Every time? Or how often? All the time.

In other games? Yes.

On other computers? Yes

This isn't a bug; it can't even be adequately called a lack of a feature. As it is, can_close is ridiculously abused, and users need some way of closing down a popup. The real problem is that BYOND has no means of signaling the server when the window is closed or its address changed.

It's not that it's poorly built; it's that the logistics of sending the close information back to the server are difficult. It may be doable, but it's something we haven't looked into and likely won't until 4.0 is underway.
