I for the most part understand why you have to be a member to post games, but to have to be a member to post developer help items such as demos and libraries?

Seems a bit overkill. I don't pay so I'm not allowed to help newbies that might need stuff I can give. Someone asked me for help, I made a little demo (or library, I can never tell what the real difference is) and was like "Why didn't you just use one from byond?" then I looked, there isn't one of what he needed AT ALL. So I was going to post it, but obviously can't. Do I want to pay 24$ just to post up a libremo (FUSION HA!)? No, not really. Will a good, simple to understand on-screen inventory libremo help a ton of people? I have no clue, but I guess we'll honestly never know >_<

So I've released a median version of v3 which is kind of a hybrid of v2 and v3, so full on v3 will be ~v3.5 or so. The good part is this hybrid version has all the variables and stuff that the real v3 has, so integrating skill trees, the new battle system and the new icons will be as simple as just adding them to the game and won't require wipe-age of any form. The quest storyline when added may though, who wants to be an ultra powerful vaizard starting the quest from the very beginning? But who knows, I could always just have it scale based on level/stats or something.

Anyway, the game is back on the hub as I have removed the item mall from the game's interface and all that jazz as requested (or demanded? XD) of byond. Things are different and the new maps looking yummy, I only wish hollow icons and the base icon work was done, then everything would look sexy, but such is life. If you don't have time to do something and no one's going to do it for you, what else can you do? Nothing.

So, come to the v3 hybrid launch, pick off those bugs (I know there's probably quite a few) and leave suggestions. By suggestions I mean real ones, not "omg make lvling easier cause i can only play for 2 hours a day and want to be the strongest." Considering the 5-6 hours of constant work I put into the game to meet the deadline (as made by my players no less, how the hell did that happen? XD) it was a little rushed, so excuse the unpolishedness of it all (such as all the NPCs in the hospital and no clothes/item buildings) but again... small updates/easy fixes :)
In the old byond, when you had an oversize turf, you click add, put it on the map and the entire turf was actually just the bottom left 32 x 32 tile even if it showed in other spaces. However now when you do that, it adds it to every 32 x 32 square and also doesn't stretch the icon.

Considering I don't want to make a bunch of 32 x 32 individual tiles to make up a 544 x 544 turf, I'd rather hit add once and have it work. I've tried cutting it into squares of equal or less than 256 x 256, that also doesn't help. If it were a new project I could understand it not working, but I'm really just using an old one and upon compiling it changed to this system which has ruined the game.

Anyway, I'm sure there's an easy fix or whatever, which is why I'm asking. I basically just want a turf bigger than 32 x 32 to show as such without being squeezed into 32 x 32. Not even sure why it does that period since there's no code or anything I changed yet in other projects it remains that way. It's weird. The attached file shows what it does. The main weird part is in other projects, adding an oversize turf like that still works just fine, which is why I don't know 100% what it is. If it were byond version, wouldn't the other projects do this as well upon compiling? It could be coding, except there is non specific to any icon size controls or turfs of this nature. This problem is for .dmi and .pngs a-like if that matters.

Memory leaks, real? or fiction? I'm kidding. I know they're real. Now what exactly are they and how can they be stopped?

For one, I've noticed that in some games dream seeker starts off using about 70,000K or so to begin with, and many many hours later (like 10+) can turn into almost 700,000. Is this just how byond is or is it coding error? If it is actual error, which it probably is, what exactly would you look for when fixing it?

Congratulations kids, free cavities!

So, apparently (as usual) I'm going to have to do all ze work in all games I do. Grouping seems to work fine, but after the high of "OMG THIS IS GONNA BE AWESOME" people slack. And I mean really slack. Like I slack, but I get sh*t done fast, so I can afford to slack. Others... WELL LET'S JUST NOT GO THERE.

Anywho, guess what! Halloween, aside from candy we get slutty outfits from underage girls looking to throw us in jail! YEAH! I remember back when Halloween was innocent. Now its just another reason to get naked. Which would be fine if -adults- were involved. Personally, I don't think jail sounds fun. Although, it's not illegal to look.. since they're not actually naked. Time to go to the spy shop and buy some binocul-I mean no. Bad, Halloween is supposed to be about candy and fun!

Speaking of ghouls and ghosties. I guess I'll be updating Wyllshire Road solo for now. Which is fine, it's not a huge project. And it's got free reign as its not based on anything, I could go anywhere with it. Like to an alien invasion.... but don't worry, I won't go that far. Dishing out some new graphics might be a pain. But who knows, I mean I get bored and what better to cure boredom then working on a game!

Now let's get back to ranting. What is wrong with people? I do enjoy not having to do everything in a game (mainly sprites/icons). So why is it, no one decent is worth it? You find a decent icon artist, they constantly b*tch and moan for stuff in the game, they want to be uber and have it easy, or they're just d*cks and deserve to be banned. Then, if they're banned, they quit or do something stupid (as they have the icons they worked on for you, you can imagine how that could suck). I mean I seriously think I'm going to have to start assassinating people. Banning just doesn't fix problems like it used to. Either decision I make is the wrong one. Let them continue their terror, hurting my players. Or stop them, hurting any hope at a future update (cause I am soooo tired of doing icons). I've been doing icons that are just unappreciated for years now, which is my fault. And I can do 100x better now, problem is I'm tired from doing all the work on the games previously to want to do a whole overhauls worth. So I'm just screwed.

On the flip side, working solo allows me to not have to deal with the high school drama that is oh-too-many people's maturity level. That is 1 thing I do love about it. No noobs holding me back, just the wind in my hair and a game getting DONE. No "OH I WANT TO DO THIS INSTEAD NOW" or "NO IT SHOULD BE DONE THIS WAY" or "OMG I WANT STATZ NAO PLS". I love it, I get in the zone and have no interruptions. It's like being in a fast car, all by yourself, just speeding down a highway with no other cars around... Minus the epic car, speed and fresh air. But it's close!

Anyway, it was 2 AM, felt like saying "Happy Halloween" so I decided to make it via post. So, HAPPY HALLOWEEN BYOND and let the good times roll.

Oh, and stay away from the jail bait! I'm not bailing any of you out.

*Types long blog/message in 1337 speak... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA*

Not

Anyway, my blog is unpopular, probably because I post once every... millennia? But oh well, I have zilch else to do right now. Yeah, I said "zilch".

First up, Wyllshire Road should be getting an update soon. For those fans out there! What's coming up next? Honestly, I have no clue. But whatever it is, it'll be good. I posted a few ideas in the discuss section of the hub. Feel free to browse those, or post some more suggestions here. I'm not really sure if I want to update as in add new content, or update as in further make what's already in concrete. Adding more content sounds more fun/better. I mean once everything's done it would be better to go back and redo everything then right? I mean the game -is- supposed to have a sort of storyline (but more on that another day) to follow throughout the stages. But there are only 2 at the moment so obviously, there can't be much a story with that.

Further news, Bleach is back up. That's all I'm going to say. Nothing special about it, but fair to at least tell the... "world"

On to other pressing matters, Batman is dead! No, umm, I was thinking... BYOND Strategy is so kind and has a nice weekly(?) blog, which I have been mentioned in. And it makes me feel all tingly inside, so I should do more to get into that blog! AN RTS YOU SAY? WHY NOT. I haven't decided to do one, but a nice starcraft STYLE (Note: STYLE, not a clone or based on starcraft...) one sounds fun. Problem is graphics, so who knows if I'll get bored enough, or maybe I'll just release it with ugly fat icons or stick figures.

Anywho, that's all for now. I should totally start a weekly blog!

Old fun board game. Didn't have one at my house so I made a virtual form of the game. It didn't take that long really, and it seems bug free as far as I've seen.

Anyway, its not some epic RPG, but I figured I'd just advertise for it. I was thinking of making a site of board/small minigames or something that people can download for free or something, and publishing it on the web. Just to make me feel "special" having my own site full of tons of games I've made (even though there are flash versions of about any game in the world), but still. Maybe people want to download and play against each other all the time. And while at the same time promoting byond for more than just anime games (Even though I love anime! :o)

I dunno, consider this advertisement, if you have any games I should make or want to help or something feel free to post.
