Having misplaced my usual program that I create drum tracks with, I went in search for a one to use for the time being. I came across Rhythm Rascal and decided to give it a try. I put recorded a short little song to test out how it worked, and over all I like it. The drum track in the following song is very simplistic, but I don't think it sounds too bad. Check it out for me!
For the past couple of years, my sister (a professional model -- a few of you may be familiar with her work from various Chatters sessions) has been telling me I should try getting into the whole model business, but it's never really jumped out at me.

Out of sheer boredom (and curiousity), I created a profile on a model website which my sister frequents, with just a single picture which her husband (professional photographer) took of me. A couple of days later, I'm being contacted by a photographer based out of Austin, saying he's interested. He has a solid portfolio and pays $75 to $150 an hour, plus provides pictures to use in my portfolio. Who knew it'd be so easy to literally pay the bills with your good looks!
Just thought I'd post a little clip on here. Just learned the Unforgiven solo, so I recorded it.

For the first little clean solo thing, I used my little strat knock off (a little $100 guitar, but the single coils make clean tones sound SO heavenly), and for the distorted portion I used my ESP KH602.

Just thought I'd pop my head in and recommend a couple of games.

First off, you've got to try Hitman: Blood Money. If you're into stealty games, this is for you. If you're into bam-bam-blood-and-guts, this is also for you! Each mission (just as in all of the hitman series) can be done a numerous amount of ways. You can go in guns blazing, or you can make your hit look like a complete accident. It's all up to you. Also includes a neat new feature that lets you customize some of your weapons. Scopes, laser pointers, silencers, armor-piercing rounds... Nifty stuff!

Secondly, try to get your hands on The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. Not only does this game play and LOOK very good, but it's been overlooked plenty of times. I can play this game with maxed out graphical settings and it plays flawlessly. Absolutely beautiful game, in my opinion. As with Hitman, you can either hide in the shadows and wait for the ride time to jump out and slit your enemy's throat, or you can go in guns blazing. It has very nifty melee combat integration. If you're familiar with the Jedi Knight series, you'll get how it works; basically your punches and such are determined by the direction you're pressing as you attack. Works nicely, and gives a real nice feel to the world. For those who are familiar with the movies, this is a prequal to the Pitch Black movie. You get to experience all of Riddick's nifty little adventures and whatnot. Check it out.

Last but not least, an oldie but goodie... Thief II: The Metal Age. This is, for the most part, a complete stealth game. You have certain objectives you must complete, and you use your stealth to get them done. Hide in the shadows and creep in the hallways to get your business done. You could, however, just kill everyone with the arsenal that the game provides you with; a sword, a bow with several types of arrows, flashbombs, and other nifty gadgets. Try this one out. If you don't like it, it shouldn't matter too much -- I think you can grab this one really cheap at your local game store (if you can find it!)

So try these games out, have fun, and feel free to recommend some games to me.

Well... I just finished one of my first complete songs. I started sometime this morning. I kept re-recording multiple parts of it to see what I liked better.

Give it a listen and tell me what you think. The whole thing is completely improvised, so bear that in mind;

So, my friend sends me this song 'Cradel of Forest' from Silent Hill 4. A couple of times in the song, there's this little musical interlude that's exactly the same both times. A slow, 2-note-per-bar thing. I was thinking they'd make great places for solos, since he said that he wants to cover it.

So what I did was plugged my v-amp into the computer, played the song and hit record. I improvised a little solo in that spot to see how it fits... and I don't think it sounds too bad!

http://volte.byondhome.com/Media/CradelForestSolo.mp3

Check it out. I know a couple of notes were kinda out of time, but eh. Oh well.
I've been having tons of fun with my new amp. Recently I've become obsessed with the song Sanitarium, by Metallica. So, I decided to record a small section of it using my new amp. :)

http://volte.byondhome.com/Media/Sanitarium.mp3

It's the intro solo and the chorus. I know I didn't wait long enough between the two, but I didn't feel like making people wait the time for the chorus... Without the singing, it would have been boring.

What do you think?
I ended up taking the 'Sample.mp3' tune from my last post and expanding it a bit.

http://volte.byondhome.com/Media/WIP2WithSolo.mp3

I was attempting to write this long complex solo for it, but I ended up getting frustrated. What you'll hear is just a quick improvisation, which actually seems to fit very well. I'm not too good at improvising, however, so go easy on me. Heheh.
