My goal for the Eternia Project was to cater for both PvP and roleplay. I wanted two seperate servers, each one with features programmed that works for the server environment, be it roleplay or PvP. This is still a goal I wish to pursue and the game's engine has progressed to the point that making progress on the roleplay server is now feasible.
The main focus of the features on the roleplay server are to give storyteller admins the ability to track the character development of players and award them for it - abilities that can only be accessed as a roleplay reward, for instance - or unique quests that the storyteller admins can design in-game.
Here are some notes of mine on the roleplay server's features: http://files.byondhome.com/WritingANewOne/ roleplay%20server.rtf
So right now the Rob, who is the lead programmer of Eternia, has enough tasks on his plate with improving the game's engine. I'd rather not pile on more, and being the impatient bugger I am, I'd happily welcome an experienced programmer (and hopefully roleplayer) to the team.
In return I will give the programmer design flexibility - allowing them to implement their own ideas, or heck, spawn a new project through Eternia's engine if I see potential.
I can also offer a cut in royalties in Eternia: Prologue, which I think would definitely be a worthwhile reward... we've seen how well a BYOND game can do if executed properly (SilkGames making over $10'000 in 3 weeks from NEStalgia).
So yeah, if you have any questions or you'd like to state your interest then send an email out to method_acting@live.co.uk
Make sure to include information about yourself, your experience in programming, and any samples you'd like to provide.
