Well this is just great. Less than 1.5 hours remaining on my membership, and I can't purchase the extension.

This is an all-access Visa gift card that I received for graduation. And no, it hasn't expired. (Or at least, shouldn't have.)

This will be the first time I've been without a membership since the half-year free trial. I don't think I'm going to make it in time for Lummox's contest, (though I didn't have much confidence in winning anyway) and my standings aren't so hot in Blobble, and I only have 78 BYONDimes remaining. (I still believe I submitted that library to BYONDscape before the policy change. Meh) I'll think of something. >_>

Well. I found the internet crawling again when I took my break to check on SSBB, so I took a speed test. (Using the recommended server again.)

Test 1: 512ms ping. After the ping phase, it just sat at the download phase doing nothing. Eventually I refreshed.

Test 2: Wouldn't even load the server list. Refresh.

Test 3: Got the servers, but couldn't get past the ping step.

Test 4: >600ms ping. No download again.

Test 5 or so: Can't ping!

Test n: ~550ms ping. The download phase finally began. It took a while, so I wasn't there when I first started. Once I noticed it was running, I saw it at 1kbps with a flickering 2. It was at 2%. I left again, came back a few minutes later. It was steady at 1kbps, and at 7%. After sitting for another minute or so, it dropped to 0kbps, and remained so until I had to give up. It eventually got better again later in the day, but this lasted a while. Someone better fix this soon. My boss very rarely allows us to take the rest of the day off in these situations.

Oh, and I'm still on mandatory overtime. Been four to five months of 58 hours per week now, and I can see how my personality is heading south.

OK, this I'm not being all so fair. We've been having some network trouble in the past month. Right now the internet speed is slowing to dialup rates, but it is better than the complete loss of connection to the internal network we were experiencing before. Hope things clear up soon. I can't even listen to my lovely internet radio. (Which I'm probably not supposed to be doing... shhhhhhhh)

In defense, we usually get half a megabit of internet on weekdays. With around eight on the weekend. Not sure what the weekend will be like with these network issues.

Well, well, well. It's a post! My first one in a while. OK, let's get it over with...

So then, life is going fine. For those many of you who don't know, I recently began my first job. Started two Fridays ago, actually. Getting a pretty paycheck is indeed a very nice thing, however it really sucks when you don't have time to use whatever you buy with it. Bah.

In the Nintendo world, I got Super Paper Mario (just because I'm a fan of the series) a few weeks ago. And finally, I got a Nintendo DS yesterday. (Obviously, I'm screwing the whole "chronological order" thing.) This is my first handheld, and it's about dang time too! My brother's Gameboy doesn't count. So far, I only have two games though. New Super Mario Bros, and Pok�mon Diamond. Though it has only been a couple days, I am still enjoying both! (It's a good sign.) I'd like to get Brain Age for my mom, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Would Big Brain Academy be just as good, or better?

As for games elsewhere, it looks like Ijji has finally opened their poker game (closed beta). Limit and no-limit Texas Hold'em. There is no real money involved, however you can spend the cash you make on auctions that they post. It is pretty cool, actually. There is even a 42' television! Someone apparently bid $330,000 for it however... so I don't think anyone else will be making good for it. I've just sucked 3-4,000 before I started this post, and it looks like I just got kicked out of my room for sitting out for 10 minutes. Crap. Ah well, guess I'll get back to bluffing like a compile-time error.

Good Progress with War

As a lot of you have noticed, I ran the new Faces of War for the first time publicly today. Sorry I didn't give notice ahead of time, was kinda short notice. Found and fixed many glitches. (Many still remain.)

It is still a shell of what it will (hopefully) be, once everything is complete. Hope I've satisfied all who have gotten to play, for a good while.

Not much to say. My host is still down, so I'll go ahead and move the changelog to my BYOND file space. (Why didn't I think of that before?) ~~Don't expect it right after this post however, I have to add a few things still.~~

Good news: I purchased a new laptop!

Bad news: They were out of them in this store, so we have to drive 30+ miles away to another store to get it.

Good news: I got my free* wireless router!

Bad news: I had a rough time setting it up, missing a MAC address.

Good news: I found the MAC address on the router! *smacks self* And I'm back online!

Bad news: My brother is borrowing the Wii tonight to show his friends.

Dangit. I FINALLY got a wireless router, and I have nothing to use it with. >=[

Nintendo's Dream is Becoming Manifest

Looks like Nintendo is accomplishing what they were attempting to do. Draw in non-gamers, while keeping hard-core gamers satisfied. Similar to many other families, my entire household (and beyond) is now playing Wii.

Both my mother and father (non-gamers) have already gotten into it, an old family friend (not sure if he's ever played a game...), and my brother (gamer favoring professional sport games) have all been drawn in by WiiSports Bowling. Second fav being Tennis. All they have really seen is WiiSports so far. I was told that the Wii was all my brother was talking about to his friends for three days. And a couple days ago, my grandmother even asked if she could come some day and try it.

Some may say it still isn't looking good for the company... what the heck are they basing that opinion off of? It has been nothing but awesomeness so far.

Current Mii count: 6 (One for each person who has played so far.)

Didn't get to follow up last evening's post because I was too busy playing. =p
I'm at world 3 of SMB:BB, and somewhere near the end of the first dungeon in LoZ:TP (dang monkeys).

I got everything I asked for (except the nunchuck unfortunately). I even almost got a free Classic Controller. Someone accidentally put it in the box with my other stuff, and I never got charged for it. But being the type of person that I am, I took it back. (And all I got was a "thanks." He was new, so I may have saved the guy's job.)

In other news, a friend extended my BYOND membership! But for reasons, I won't reveal who. =D

Oh yeah. Other news. I no longer own a Gamecube. =[
The Wii can play GCN games, and I got $45 for the cube. I'll still miss that thing. Had it since around the time of launch.

Also, that takes me back down to two controllers also. >_>
