If you're looking for something worldly and interesting to read, you're probably going to be disappointed.

This blog was mainly for the purpose of expressing my internal thoughts on my current project. And also, everyone needs a reason to take a break from coding. >:D

My engine is pretty much complete now. Time to decide where to take the project from here.

At this point in my project, I find myself a bit grateful for all the failed projects I've had over the past 7 months or so. After working with others on their projects and jumbling around with a few of my own, my programming abilities have grown substantially. Not to mention: all of those failures tend to be a great personal library for what to do and what not to in the future. There's still a few things in the DM language I need to work on to really throw together a decent game of my own.

I'm getting there.

I'm going to try to do something simple as my first official release solo. All I need is a GFX Artist. As far as programming goes, I'm pretty competent, but there's always more to learn.

I've been doing alot of studying of the DM guide and some libraries from accomplished programmers to try to fill in the gaps and widen my style of coding.

I may end up releasing this engine as a library for others to use. Also, I'd like to see some input on my personal style of coding and I'm always open to suggestions.

But after this much failure and learning, my main goal is to finish a project. I don't care if anyone ever plays it. I want to finish something and release it. I need to get that first one out of the way and put a game on the BYOND hub. After that, I can see what my weaknesses are and begin to build the next one.

In closing, if anyone has any grand ideas on how to widen one's style and remain open to the ideas of others, please share.
I see. Good Luck.
