Above you see my title screen in progress. Note:I'm not much of a GFX artist Finally a project I can follow through with. The Island is a solo gaming adventure where you, the gamer, have found yourself stranded on an island. You're all alone and have to survive. The first thing to notice about the game is the abundance of things to do. Everything you encounter is fully interactive and full of surprises. From the ocean that surrounds you to the number of caves and creatures that inhabit the area. Find food, collect wood and complete mini quests. All items on your island are useful. From the wood of the trees to the abundance of stone deposits. Use these resources to build a hut and outline a fire pit to stay warm and warn off the dangerous creatures lurking in the shadows. Creep through the forest to trap and kill animals for food and clothing. Use their bones to create tools to use for farming and advancement of technology. So Far I Have.. So far, all of the work has been done solo. I think the reason this project has a better chance of seeing a release than the other two-dozen I've started is: I sat down and created a plan. I did brainstorming for two days and decided on the features I wanted to insert from the beginning. After the framework had been lain, I began to break out the DM guide and a few libraries along the way. Credit will be given for the libraries used. Most of them, I just read through, studied, and programed my own take on the author's idea. Copy/paste never taught anyone anything. In Closing Thanks for reading. If anyone is interested in learning more about the project or lending a hand: contact me on the pager or comment here. If you would like to inquire just because you like the idea or have questions that weren't covered in this post, you can do the same. I'll post more as the project comes along. Thanks for reading P.S. Please don't tell me my art sucks. I am already aware of this. :) |
