(This more of a discussion than it is a tech list, so I'm labeling it as such.)

The jester is a very complex character. He relies on his incredible speed and fast attacks to rack up damage and then kill his opponents. His primary mechanic is his "magic series", which allows his attacks to cancel each other if they make contact. The series goes Melee -> Primary -> Secondary. His Secondary therefore can cancel his primary, and his primary can cancel his melee. Careful use of this will make your Jester extremely deadly. It's also important to understand that the Jester's "kill move" is most often his Secondary. His melee has no knockback whatsoever, and his Primary only knocks back enemies on its end frames. Lastly, dash canceling his Primary can make the Jester move incredibly fast. If you need a speed character, but don't like the Ninja, the Jester is your best bet.
Some stats:

JESTER
Stats:
Offstage Dash Restoration: Yes
Movement Speed:4
Dash:7, 10 with speed upgrade
Weight:0.5, 1 with power upgrade

Melee:
Cone-shaped
Range: 16 pixels
Damage: 2
Time: 0.2
Dash Cancel: Yes
Knockback: 0

His primary can do up to 8 damage with 0.5 knockback on its end frames and his secondary can do 7 damage with 1.5 knockback within 16 pixels, or 24 with control upgrade
Or you can just spam Dash and Primary and put all your points into speed.

that'll work until the warrior slams you with 1 melee and you die. the jester's really lightweight, so you still have to have some technical skill to slip out of combat situations if you're going for a speed based play-style
