Footrace for the Holy Grail

Time to look at my favorite fights from FF!

Kickstar vs Slayer86, Round 3
The metagame on friday was dominated by speed players using the Ninja to get quick laps, especially on Donut. Kickstar, the only Maiden main, however, didn't counter-pick the ninja with a ditto; his choice of maiden versus the fastest character in the game shocked us all. Just look at the absolutely terrifying control he has- the fastest character in the game doesn't want to budge an inch. And the melee drafting he did was flawless, precise, and not without a victim. An incredible performance by Kickstar.


Undergo vs NaturesBlade Round 2
In the finals, we had NaturesBlade, the rising start, versus Undergo, a dangerously skilled player. Go to 1:32 in the video for my favorite moment, where Undergo does the most shocking recovery we've seen in a while. Undergo's skill comes from his precise albeit speedy button presses. What I like about this video is that Undergo almost 4-stocks NaturesBlade... In the finals.


Undergo vs Sega Queen Round 3
Look at the precision and execution he has playing the Savage, who is arguably the game's wildest character. This video is just absolutely terrifying to any and all troll players out there. At first, Undergo scared us by nearly losing the match to Sega, but then he pulled this out of thin air in round three.


Undergo vs Yut Put Round 2
Both Undergo and I were some of the most experienced players in the tournament. After losing the first matchup in Rogue vs Druid, I tried to counterpick him with a Rogue ditto. Unfortunately, it came down to the fact that Undergo's experience with rogue was just too much for me to handle.


Undergo vs Yut Put Round 1
Undergo and I practiced frequently with the Druid vs Rogue matchup, and the results were 50/50 regarding who'd win. The spectators during this round made remarks like "approaching mach speed", because Undergo and I are both extremely fast players, and the Druid can piggyback off of the Rogue very nicely.


Yut Put vs 5rats Round 3
5rats and I knew our matchups too well. However, 5rats was maining Showman for this tourney, and I didn't know any matchups for that character, so I wasn't sure what to counter-pick. As a result, we ended up feuding on the character selection screen until we eventually both selected random. I got archer, and he got the Warrior, and the end result was me showing off my archer play-style and wiping the floor with the heavy Warrior.
