Just picking around the site, looking for projects utilizing the side scrolling perspective. I only know of "Rocket down" at the moment. only interested in the action genre.

[This post is an attempt to satisfy my urge to make art for a side scroller.]

Discuss.
Why don't you make your own Side Scrolling game. And have a Coder help you.Just saying but i dont think there are much Action ones anime there are but i dont know about action
I would, just trying to scope out my competition.then again its been quite awhile since Ive had to look for a programmer.
Well alot of people on byond know who you are so finding a good programer for you wouldn't be as hard as you think it would be.And if you made one i bet it would be amazing from what ive seen from your iconing skills. So if you do Good Luck Zane
Maybe. Let's see how things go.
Sidescroll is for narbs.
Well in that case i guess I'm a narb :)Whatever that may be.

It's not just the perspective that i like, its what i can do with my art and animations that would normally be a pain in the ass with 3/4th or isometric perspective.
@neblim
Cool. I find your 8-bit style quite refreshing :) and not the blocky stuff that i normally see.
<---- Coder?
Do you have any examples of your most recent work?
Most recent was my game BYOND: Martial Arts. I even have a side scroller tower defense that I never finished up called Eternal Blue. Check my page.
http://www.byond.com/games/Nadrew/BlazersQuest I started that but never really got around to doing anything with it.
I'd still like to turn Pascal's Challenge into an actual game.
@superAntx: I see, care to tell me about it?

I like Pascal's Challenge the way it is!
The idea was to make sort of a Steampunk Megaman X/Metroid game. You'd play as a mechanic stuck in 'the steam machine' after hopping in to fix it.

There would be enemies, bosses, upgrades, and such. Most of the gameplay would be focused on platforming and puzzle solving.

That sounds awesome. Expand on the current source code but leave the demo as is? :D

I'd scrap the demo and start over. It was made using the very first version of Forum_account's pixel movement lib and I added a bunch of stuff on top of it. Parallax scrolling, variable jumping, moving platforms, all that stuff was added by me and isn't quite as optimized as it should be.

I don't have to mess with the current demo, but the source code itself would be thrown out in favor of a clean slate.
Sounds like a plan, bro. Can't wait to see the finished product, if you decide to work on it.
