I didn't quite follow FUNimation incident, but it seems none of Dragonball games appear in searches, however I can still find Naruto games and Pokemon games. Therefore I have few questions:
1. Only Dragonball games were affected?
2. If yes, are there any plans to do same thing with Naruto, Pokemon or other fan games?
3. Is it good idea to make Pokemon game, or better stay to something original?
4. If you think new games should be original, should it be fully original, or basing of Pokemon idea is alright?
Why not use the forum search or read any of the articles that were written by members, or Tom himself, about the indecent?
Only games that FUNimation had legal intellectual power over were removed from the hub. Naruto and Pokemon aren't FUNimation, so they are still up.

I strongly suggest you get started on an original game, simply because the intellectual property owners of Naruto and Pokemon may come knocking on BYOND's door in the future.

Of course, you may still make cube capsules that launch out Zaoshimons when thrown, which may perform shiny magical techniques or martial arts moves.

Only Dragonball games were effected by the C&D order done by FUNimation. However the Pokemon companies support the development of fan games, granted they don't solicit money or attempt to be exact replicas of the official games.

I'm developing a Pokemon game, do what you want. If anything DOES happen, you still have the game address so you could still share your game with friends.

Developing an original game is still and always will be a better idea, though.

Slander. Someone could make a really really really crappy game with an original concept. And someone else could make a really really really good game with original gameplay etc etc, but using [insert anime/video game here] as a theme. I would find that fangame better because of gameplay.

You also have to take into consideration that 99% of fangames play like trash.

If were talking gameplay its more like 70-80%. There are many fangames that have a bad appearance but decent gameplay. Much better gameplay than most of the featured games on this site.
