I hate running. I'm a pretty lazy bastard most of the time. I go on 10 mile hikes a few times a month, but otherwise couldn't care less about my fitness. Because of that, I usually don't really care about what shoes I use as long as they get the job done. Shoes are just shoes, right?

Yesterday was day one of my vibrams experience. Everybody at work thought it was hilarious. People took pictures of my feet. If you have low self esteem and can't take being the butt of every joke, these shoes are not for you. That being said, running and walking feel amazing. It is like being barefoot. I have better balance and posture, and can run faster than I ever have in my life. The Trek LS model gets excellent traction and is almost a perfect fit to my feet. I do have slight discomfort in my left 2nd toe, because it is longer than normal and doesn't fit very well in the pocket, but I am hoping to stretch it out.

I did some trail running today, really enjoyable. If any of you like to run or hike or anything like that, definitely check these out. Your feet will feel liberated.

I saw some of those at Kohls I think. I didn't try them on but after reading this, I feel like I probably should have. :(

I think they're like really expensive though :( Our track team likes to use em for distance.
i've heard the fila ones don't quite hit the mark for a good clone, but they may be worth looking into. i think even though all the toes look seperate, the pinky and adjacent toe are grouped in the same pocket, so that may not give you the benefits of having your toes completely spread.
They really are quite odd. xD
