Election 08 Update, Ohio
CNN is calling Ohio for Barack Obama now, okay so CNN has not always been right (See 2000 election) about calling a state. However Ohio wasnt exactly called at 49/51, so without Ohio how can the Republicans win? Well dont let this deter you from voting, however if McCain loses Florida then I will be able to sleep soundly tonight presuming that Obama has won. However even if Obama lost florida... its not looking good for the republicans. No republican has won an election without Ohio since Lincoln. Ill be posting more on the election as interesting news comes out.
Edit: Yes it seems Obama has had a landslide victory against John McCain, John's concession speech was especially touching (minus the hooting from skinheads in the crowd). I cant even believe that Obama took Florida and Virginia, I am so excited for the USA and the entire world today. I feel like I have witnessed a historical event and I truly believe that we will see better and brighter days in the future. God bless America.

Vote, for gods sake
Dont let polls that make Obamas victory look definate keep you home on election day. Misleading stats such as a 99% win chance that has been floating around are based entirely off of phone polls! Remember the republicans will be voting in record numbers because of how behind they are, if Democratic voters are too cocky this election will be lost to another 4 years of economic mismanagement by the Republican party. Today I read in a newspaper that a poll of Calgarians showed a 4 to 1 support for Obama over McCain, how can this be? Calgary is the Conservative epicenter for Canada, Stephen Harpers riding is like a block from my house! However the free world agrees that Obama is the right pick, our only concern towards the election really is the economy. It affects us all, and the reason the entire world prefers Obama over McCain is simple, we know McCain's platform will cause the world economy to keep falling. Regardless of my opinion though, go vote. Even if you are voting McCain, lets not have the most important election of our generation be decided by less than the majority of the population due to apathy. Your vote matters! From all of us who cant vote but care so much that the United States recovers from this recession, please vote! At very least even if the Republicans win, I want to feel that the election wasnt lost to laziness. Especially this crowd, which is young and influential, you guys are the big stakeholders here. The long term is paved by decisions made years ago, finally the last 8 years have caught up to you, It's time to have a president who can restore things to how they were a decade ago under Clinton. We need prosperity! We dont need tax cuts for the top 2%, so make your voice heard and get out and vote!
ESPECIALLY IF YOU LIVE IN A SWING STATE!

Obama's 30 minute Infomercial
I'm making a quick post on the Barack Obama Infomercial because god knows if you get your political news from SilkWizard your going to end up voting for Palin 08 and doom the free world to economic turmoil and redundant folksiness at inappropriate times.
Basically Barack Obama has made a very respectful, honest and powerful advertisement which addresses his major priorities of repairing the middle class in America. Also the commercial answers the Republican question: "who is Barack Obama?", giving a quick mini biography of his life. I guess the question is, could John McCain spend 30 minutes talking about his policy stances and platform for president without simply attacking Barack Obama? Im going to hazard a "no" for the uncharismatic geezer. I loved this video, I'm sorry for those who are too bitter to appreciate the message behind it, I understand that the representation of middle America is hokey, but it is important.
Also, I would like to just remind those who believe in the republican party and don't like picking a president based on merit but rather affiliation, that many respected Republicans have endorsed Barack Obama. Those Republicans who see that John McCain has poor judgment and had the courage to cross party lines to make the best decision for America and the free world deserve a pat on the back, meanwhile those who still defend Palin as being competent and capable of being runner up to President of the free world and still believe John McCain is the man for the job considering the economic crisis and his obvious oblivion to how economics work... well shame on you. This isn't a sports team, people from all across the world are waiting for the economy of the world and the pride of democratic nations to return following 8 years of poor judgment. Please make a choice based on the canditates merit and the effectiveness of their proposed changes. Also, for the love of god, stop the smear tactics. This is a presidential campaign not a high school popularity contest. Having a democracy means having the capacity to change what party you vote for based on serious legitimate issues, if you take democracy and treat it like a competition when really the entire world is in this together, then you missed the point.
Good luck America, remember the entire world is actually rooting for you to make the best choice for everybody, and we will all be watching the election coverage.
Here's the Infomercial in case you missed it.

PS: SilkWizard, if you believe that taxing the middle class less and taxing those making over 200,000 a year more is bad for America then you are incorrect. The fact of the matter is that even McCain was against the tax breaks to the very wealthiest originally, he has changed his stance as an obvious act of giving in to the Republican party who obviously have some seriously corrupt affiliations. Retooling your health care industry to be competitive with other developed nations is not a bad thing, spending money on education when the richest country in the world also has some of the worst schools is not bad. I'm certain you have some understanding of economics, surely you dont believe that the government wasting money in Iraq and giving tax breaks to big companies is better than investing it into educating your globally uncompetitive youth and keeping hard working Americans from going bankrupt due to a horribly corrupt medicare system. Talking to hard right wing republicans sometimes seems like a lost cause.
Also your criticisms on the lack of super polished industry film transitions and etc etc is forgetting the fact that the infomercial has to, in order to be effective, be perceived as "not Hollywood" and certainly not over-polished and insincere.
PPS: I have no problem with those who wont be voting for Obama, and you are free to your opinion. Except SilkWizard, who I refuse to agree to disagree with, because he has decided to be far too disagreeable, and illogical, about politics.

Oh Politics
im making this post on an ipod, heads up on shitty capitalization.
So im reading the papers and digg.com religiously and following CNN as if it was an episode of heroes, commentary on this election for the US and on the recent Canadian election is a must for me now. The entire strategy of telling the public where your opponent is on the dumbed down political spectrum is really out of hand lately, the liberal party lost the canadian election by trying to slander stephen harper of the conservative party as a right wing bush like moron. The problem is that our conservatives are probably more centrist when compared to international politics. The damn labeling scheme is rediculous, im a strong democrat supporter in us politics but apparently also right wing, in fact canadians elected a conservative party while favoring obama 4times more than mccain. How can left and right describe politics when this is the case. God knows we all just want the guy who is best suited for the job, and its pretty clear that economists side with obama over mccain and stephen harper over dion. The only thing centrists like myself care about is having the best guy in control and keeping morons like palin, dion and yeah mccain too, out of powerful positions. This basic argument should be less divisive than it is, it looks good for obama though, but im still frustrated at how stubborn some americans are and how bipartisan republican rhetoric is making the country. I hope the artificial fear built on obama fades from memory soon and that economics are kept central to the country instead of rediculous anti muslim fearmongering.
Ps i got the job i wanted!

Update on Me
Hey so this is my personal blog i figure i should post about myself and whats been going on with me. Basically the reason I havnt been kicking around on BYOND for the last two months is that I am in my last year of University, trying to finish on time in lue of having unused courses because of a double major program that i bailed out on, and therefor taking 6 courses a semester. So im super busy on school alone, also accounting does its recruiting for jobs in late september and the first half of october. So not only have i been stupid busy with my courseload I have been running around to "Info-Sessions" for big accounting firms and then writing up coverletters for these firms, applying for the jobs after redoing my resume and then attending interviews and now Im in the process of post interview office tours and exciting but exhausting things like that. So god help me Im busy, not only that but 4 of my classes have group project components which cause me to have to waste time organizing meetings and such which is very stressful. So yeah I have been one tired guy, the last of recruiting is comming up in the next two weeks so wish me luck. I also have to pass midterms and keep on track for my group projects and finals.
:(!
I miss being able to work on my game and such, Ill stop by once in a while to say hi.
