Need help with Slicehost...

I don't know if this is the correct forum to post this but can someone tell me what do I need to use Slicehost? Besides the money of course. Thanks in advance

Putty to login to the ssh?

You really give us nothing to go on do you want to install byond and host games?

Is this host just for your own things eg website?

Are you going to host steam games coutner strike etc?

Questions are good things you know.

Well first off you need putty its a shh/telnet client to login to the "command line" on your VPS assuming you have a linux VPS correct?

Download putty here

Login to the ip given to you by the host.

and type in
wget http://www.byond.com/download/build/419.985_byond_linux.zip

unzip 419.985_byond_linux.zip

cd byond


Now depending on how you want to install byond.

make here - make here installs it non global so other users cannot access it.

make install - installs global i find this easier for running DreamDaemon thats pretty much the command but one downside you need DMCGI.
