Is anyone in here familiar with what is currently happening in the NFT/crypto gaming space?

Many play-to-earn games are coming out and many of the new ones are very basic, here on Byond there are endless possibilities to create wonderful worlds where people can truly entertain themselves.


would be possible to create a Play to Earn game here on Byond?

I think this could truly revolutionize the things here

Gads that sounds depressing. But BYOND uses a server-client model and also it does no low-level operations, which suit it badly for mining.

Also NFTs are stupid and need to die. I won't say the same for all of crypto (although Bitcoin certainly needs to go), but NFTs might well stand up as the dumbest idea of this century, which already includes such gems as "Let's give Amy Schumer a Netflix special".

Play-to-earn is nothing more than giving people points for doing things, and then letting the people trade the points themselves on a blockchain if they want to.

All you need, is for your game to have points, and somehow allow point trading on a blockchain.

One possibility is that you implement atomic swaps in your game, and nominate someone else to set up a blockchain trading market. Although atomic swaps are the least convenient kind of trading, they're also one that doesn't require your game to directly interact with any blockchain in any way.
