hey!

so, rather recently, I accidentally had myself an early Christmas and am now in the possession of an Xbox 360

unfortunately, being a poor fella, I am a little low on games for this beast of a box, but those that I do have...

I... uh. play... them.

anyway.

here are the games I have or am capable of possessing if the time was right, and then I will top the list off with my gamercard. god, I feel like one of them.

Forza 2
Guitar Hero 2
Halo 3
Halo 2 (can you play online with an Xbox game on a 360?)
Rainbow Six: Vegas*

*games marked with a star are games that I love more than life itself

and lastly:

add me onto your "friends list" if you'd like to "play some games" some time. I'm not against renting a cool game, either, if I am persuaded to do so. also, does anybody know how to contact Ol' Yeller?

also, I would find you guys my Wii friend code so you can add me as well, but I don't have several hours to type it out! :[

(a Nintendo-related joke)

Super Mario Galaxy comes out this month which is pretty rad. stoked to the max about that, though I'm thinking I'll probably wait until "Real Christmas" to dive into it.

in other news, I quit the metal band Vexen after playing one final Halloween show.

click all of those last 4 words for pictures of said Halloween show. [in a new window, because I am an HTML master!]

I am moving to the beautiful city of Victoria in the new year, which is exciting ( Kunark already knows this :o ). I'll be attending the University of Victoria to study linguistics, and end up anywhere from a courtroom to a hospital to a classroom to Japan.

basically I found one study that ties together everything I'm interested in, because I'm afraid of making a choice right now, so I figure I'll start on a path and make an exact choice a few years down the road.

so that's an update for me. uprooting everything and moving to the capital of my province, which just so happens to be one of the most beautiful cities in my country (which incidentally houses some of the most beautiful girls in the country!) in an attempt to find myself.

epic.

but, in this comments thread, you will tell me what's going on with you. this way it is easier for me to find out what all of you are doing without having to hunt through a million blogs.

... which I'll end up doing anyway because I love you chaps.

james

ps: sorry I have not come into Chat or anything like that lately. my BYOND is pretty out of date and I am far too lazy to update it :[
I'm still doing some course at college. It's not exactly fulfilling but I get EMA (Socialism means you get paid to go to school, oh yes), 20 quid a week. That's about 40 CAD/USD. And by college I don't mean university. College in the UK is what you do if you failed 6th form. 16 - 18.

I came home today to find a cool blue swivel chair in front of my PC. This rocks because I was using an uncomfortable wooden one before.
Having lived a stone's throw (well, okay, Superman's stone's throw) away from Victoria for the better part of my life now, I should give you one simple warning:

Watch out for storms.
Welcome to Canada!

Yeah, I guess those northerners can't really be considered Canadian...
I love Rainbow Six: Vegas too! :D

... but I have a PS3 so we can't play together :'(

storms, you say! I guess I never really considered the fact that it's right near Vancouver which is notoriously rainy, which also equates to Victoria being rainy too.

I'm pretty fine with that, though, to be quite honest. given a choice between blazing heat and miserable rain, I'll take the rain anyday.

I guess I can say that now, not having experienced it at all, but we'll see how I feel in a year's time haha.

also: th-thanks Dixon. Jt is right :[ up here, we simply refer to each other as "igloos"
If you're going to get a Guitar Hero game go for number 3. From what I understand it's got better XBOX Live support. It also comes with a much better controller.
well my 360 came with GH2 bundled with it for free, which is really neat! the Explorers -- even in real guitar form! -- are notorious for being uncomfortable to play while sitting down, so it's a little frustrating, but it's doing fine for me.

I think I'm going to buy GH3 without a guitar for now, and then buy Rock Band eventually for guitar #2. this way I won't have an extra guitar lying around from 3, and also I'll have Rock Band, which is the game I am far more excited for (out of GH3/RB) anyway :]
Well, Vancouver is rainy, but Victoria is stormy. Vancouver Island's southern prominence guards the majority of the Lower Mainland from the brunt of the storms that roll in from the Pacific. Thankfully by the time they hit Victoria they've already gone over Port Angeles in Washington and the majority of the western front of Vancouver Island, so it's not so bad as if you were to live out in Tofino or something...
I just got live, and unfortunately we have none of the same games :-(
