Special Olympics
Do you have a disability?
Do you feel like an outsider?
If you amswered yes to both questions,
I have news for you. You are not alone.
I know some people, with disabilities.
They all belong in an organization called Special Olympics.
I ama member of the same, and it helps me bring out the real me.
I go and have fun with my fellow athletes and we try our hardest.
Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose, but all the time, we have fun.
What is the point of winning if you don't have fun?
Softball, bowling, basketball, track & field,
It doesn't matter to me, as long as I have fun.
Winning feels real great, I can relate to that,
But, if you didn't have fun as you competed,
Then inside you feel like a loser, sometimes.
Also, be proud of yourself when you do any competition.
The athletes that I am aquainted with are incredible individuals.
Some can't help thet they are different.
Glasses, hearing aids, and wheelchairs don't make a difference at all.
They are not dorks, nerds, or vegetables.
On the inside, that is where you must look for a person's personality.
People look at the disabled and laugh at them.
No one reallly understands them, and the bullies get judgmental.
Some of us are really sensitive with our emotions.
What may be a joke to a bully, can be an insult towards disabled.
I guess what I am trying to imply here is that you must not be a judge,
Being a jerk to a disabled person just makes them terrified more.
Plus, if you just gave them a chance, they can teach you about life.
If you meet a person with a disability, put yourself in their shoes,
Try your best to understand the struggle that they had to endure,
And just give them a chance, if you do, you wont regret it.
Before you judge people, and this includes everyone, get to know them,
Ask questions, and never judge anyone because of their appearance.
Because you might be denying a kind person a friend to talk to.
Take my advice and don't judge.

I love this poem. It's so true.
|
Eh, lets not call them retards. That's wrong in so many ways. For all you know you may get in a accident and end up like that. Considering all your idiotic comments Elation, I think that already happened to you.
Anyways, nice job Jazymyne. Really nice poem and learn to ignore that fool Elation he is neither helpful nor smart, just an ass. |
the poem is nice, but i don't see how it shows that the word "
First of all, your punctuation sucks something awful. Secondly, the poem has nothing to do with hating that word. Yet, the person who wrote it, being my friend, disdains the usage of the word in any shape or form. I would greatly appreciate that, when you post anything in this blog, you COMPLETELY remove that word from your vocabulary. To spare her feelings, I have decided to strikethrough the word in what I am quoting. It might not completely hinder the legibility of the word, but it gets the message across. |
Meh....no one wins really...and why are you people arguing anyways? One person's opinion is one person's opinion. We all have em, and they all tend to be different in some way or another. Whether you disagree with someone else's opinion or not is up to you, but go striking people down because of what they believe.
Now then, personally, MY opinion is that Cheat's and Jaz's words are the correct ones. Yours may be different, true, but dont go about smashing on other people's words. Oh and btw I AM a hypocrit..so yeah, take that to mind. Oh and Konoha's Best....stop being a newbie. Same goes to you Elation. XD |
