Here are the instructions for your router from the website. I've added my comments to clarify things.
Instructions for Model MR314 and RP114 Type the router's address in an Internet browser's address bar. (By default the router's address is 192.168.0.1). So in other words, open up a fresh copy of IE (or other browser of your choice) and type 192.168.0.1 into the address bar, then press enter. You should get a page or dialog box prompting you for a username and password. Enter the router's username and password. For Netgear routers, the username is always admin and the default password is either 1234 or password. If neither of those work, check with whoever configured the router to get the password off them. Click Advanced > Ports on the left menu bar. Self-explanatory. Click the Advanced link, then the Ports link. Enter the first port number in an unused Start Port box. If only one port number is to be forwarded, enter the same number in End Port. To specify a range of ports, enter the last port to be forwarded in the End Port box. Basically, enter the number of the port you want to forward in both the Start Port and End Port boxes. This is the port you're going to tell Dream Seeker/Daemon to host on. Enter the IP address of your local server in the Server IP Address box. This is the network address of the computer that you're hosting from. It'll probably start with 192.168. You can find it out by running "ipconfig" or "winipcfg", or going to Network in the Control Panel. Click Apply. I hope I don't need to explain this. ;-D You may need to reboot your router for the changes to take effect, or you may not; mine makes you reboot it. To do that, there might be a button on the webpage somewhere; or just yank the power cord out of the back of the router, wait a couple of seconds, and stick it back in. Works for me. =D If you still have problems, tell me what they are. "It's not working" doesn't count as telling me what the problem is. =P |
If you need more detailed help, post the model number of your router and I'll walk you through it.
