Grabbed

Grabbed was suppose to be my 4k entry for Jamesburrow's contest. Sadly, I went above the size boundary even with compression. So I decided just to release a playable version of it. Essentially, it is a death match game in which players can use the mouse to grab an object and throw it at the enemy. You can also double click a player to view his or her information. With the few people I've tested with, we've found no bugs.

CSPSP version 1.5

I haven’t posted anything PSP related on my blog for a while, so since I recently found out about this game’s update, I’ve decided to do so now. About one year ago I found an astonishing game made for the PSP named CSPSP (Counter-Strike PSP). I played it for many months straight and as the development slowed down I started to slowly stop playing the game and move away from the PSP scene.

Recently I got interested with the PSP homebrew development scene again and decided to look at some homebrew games. By accident I came across the author of CSPSP and decided to see what he’s been up to recently. I found out that he finally created an update for CSPSP which includes online play.

Here is a list of the updates:
Implemented new camera system
Added aiming guide lines
Made some small changes to recoil system (mainly for sniper rifles and shotguns)
Added character type select
Added spectator mode for single player
Added round timer in spectator mode
Made score list sorted
Changed layout of Options a bit
Added option to enable/disable friendly-fire
Added option to choose name
Implemented new Online system
***Implemented infrastructure multiplayer***
Implemented Game Lobby
Added ability to chat
Made multiplayer less buggy (hopefully)
Fixed network select (before it wouldn't work if you deleted any connections)
Limited death indicator to 3 max
Fixed the buying deagle bug
Fixed a small sound issue when firing and strafing
Fixed knife
Made sure money doesn't go down if you already have full ammo
Text on scoreboard is now the name of the map instead of "test"
Made shotgun fire straighter
Added more custom maps (including river by me)
Added more guns to ice world
Other small fixes that I can't remember right now

I highly suggest all PSP users who can play homebrew games to download this game. Also what comes with the files is a server in which you can host the game and also a map creator.

Hacking and Scripting ideas

I'm trying to think of a creative way in which I can add in hacking and computer for information into a possible project of mine. This is a huge stump for me as I do not have too much knowledge of hacking. Despite the fact that I’ve thought of several ideas, I personally consider them not too great. So I’ll post the ideas I have and hope for some feed back from the communities on ideas and or suggestions.

My first idea is where if you were to login it would be a smart idea to create a bank account (which can be hacked). Once you have earned enough money, you could log onto the internet and buy hacking tools such as an email spammer, password cracker, ECT. But I think that could be way too easy.

My second idea was pretty horrible; you would have several disks in which you can combine to break the computer’s firewall. Once in I have no idea what could happen next. This idea isn’t good as it is also too easy.

My third idea is to have something to deal with scripting, but since I have no background with hacking I wouldn’t know what a script for hacking could look like.

Now for another stump, I really want to add in game scripting, but I don’t know what the point of it would be. Would it help you hack someway, if so what could be a possible of example script? Could you possibly create a program that logs text a user has typed onto his computer, how would that script look like?

I want this hacking part of the project to be not too easy, I wouldn’t want it to be if they were to learn how to do it one round they can automatically win every one that would just ruin the replay ability. But I don’t want it to be so hard where players would want to give up and not come back.

A blast from the past (Dung-Man)

For those who are fans of pacman, you'll love this. Long ago Mike H, then known as Air Mapster, created a pacman clone named Dung Man. The hub is hidden but the download still works.

Blubomb (version 1 build 3)

I didn't have too much time this weekend to work on this game but I did get a lot done. Hopefully my next update which should include vehicles and the ability to save stats, should be down around next weekend. Also I'm working hard to add in buyable weapons, fix the flugeye character, and fix the deathmatch mode (which has developed several new bugs with this update).

(February 3rd, 2008 [sunday])
Version 1 Build 3
* Added in new graphics for auto joined walls
* Remade the character graphics
* Mineral Tube is now outside of base
* Enemies can no longer spawn kill or enter opposing team's bases
* Minerals are randomly placed (fixed it up a bit)
* New Interface
* New title screen
