I've tried and Tried, but Dantom's BYOND guide is just not getting to me. Any better guides out there? Thanks.

Nope, that's the only one. But you can find plenty of other starter tutorials and bits of information scattered pretty much everywhere around here - Tutorials, Demos, Bwicki pages, Blog Articles, etc...

Zilal is working on "a better guide to BYOND", as in the new blue book. Just wait. Eventually he'll get bored of writing and release it.
