Every now and again, I have an idea on how to improve games I play or feel like seeing what I can make on my own. With Birth by Sleep and the local active KH-based game on the brain, these are what I've been jotting up this past week.

HEARTLESS AND NOBODIES
"Somebody", "Heartless", and "Nobodies" would be the three forms available (Gummy Ship not counting.) When you are defeated by a Heartless or travel the Dark Corridors without a Black Cloak or Keyblade-Wielder Armor equipped, your Dark Taint rises from average (20 points) by 1 point. If you are player-killed by another player whose race is Heartless, it goes up by 5 points. When you have 100 points, your Will stat will affect whether you turn into a Heartless (Shadow) or a Nobody (Dusk or Humanlike). If your Will stat below a certain amount, you turn into a Heartless. If it is rather high, you become a Nobody (30+ that minimum would result in a Humanlike Nobody).

Heartless and Nobodies would be able to use the Dark Corridor teleportation system with no problems. If a Heartless player is PKed by someone with a Keyblade equipped, they revert to their whole form. Heartless and Dusks would not be able to access their weapons, although Heartless have access to Dark-attributed skills while Dusks have a boosted speed stat. Humanlike Nobodies look like their Somebodies, share the same stats, but damage dealt by the Keyblade is 1.5x the normal rate. Heartless enemies and players are dealt twice the normal damage by Keyblade weapons and Light/Holy magic (Cure and revive-items don't count).

KEYBLADE
People who have a Keyblade cannot give it to other players. They can trade Chains that are not bound to the player but once they equip it, they cannot trade or drop the Chain from their inventory. This would have to be dealt with carefully, or maybe just World-based Keychains would be able to be traded in such a manner. Person-based Keychains would act as either rare boss-drops or synthesized Chains.

If variety in enemies is desired but the timeline is placed sometime after KH1, enemies that appeared in 1 and Birth by Sleep would be located in a world similar to Mirage Arena and Castle Oblivion: "The Key Ring." Using memories borrowed/stolen from Keyblade wielders, you could program the area to spawn any number of enemies (which would make it perfect for practice). The moment you die or leave that room, all the enemies which remain and the settings are reset to null. If you defeat certain enemy-groups, you may find a Keyblade based on one used by one of the most important people to creating that memory (ex: Music Master would result in a Terra keyblade.)

OTHER WEAPONS
Since few characters you see in the KH series are Keyblade wielders, Keyblade Wielder / Master would be something like a prestige class. Reaching a certain level and doing certain quests for Master Yen Sid or Sora/Riku/Mickey (for example) would allow you to unlock a second Awakening. This would enable you a chance to get your own Keyblade - if you defeat the Darkside (Somebodies) or Twilight Thorn (Humanlike Nobodies), that is. Heartless and Dusks would not be eligible for those quests, but they would be able to get special ones that allow them to turn into more powerful Heartless/Nobodies from Maleficient/XIII.

That's it for now. Maybe more later.
I don't like Kingdom Hearts but reading your ideas, this actually sounds like something worth playing.
