Stuck on Loading game information

I am running Version 499.1201 and I am able to join games as a guest, but if I try to open BYOND, it get's stuck on a screen that says "Loading game information..." I am not sure if it matters, but the box that BYOND opens is black with a red x in the corner.

I have tried installing it in my Program Files, and I have tried installing it on my desktop. Neither one got further than the "Loading game information..." screen. There wasn't a progress bar.

I am running Windows 8 through Parallels on my MacBook Air.

I haven't been on BYOND in years now, so I'm not sure if I am doing something wrong. I would appreciate any help I can get though.

Flaming_printer_2001	I have a small update. I uninstalled BYOND again and reinstalled it in my Program Files x86 folder. After sitting on "Loading game information..." it has moved on to a new screen that says "Loading live games from BYOND hub..." that has a progress bar at 100%.
