Tried to squeeze as much of the question into the title as I could...


I'm curious, which method would you prefer and why? For a small party-based dungeon crawler, would you prefer (assuming you're a melee based class) to attack by pressing an attack "verb"/macro/button/etc or to click the mob you're preforming the attack against, and have combat automatically played out for you until a victor is met (combat is automatically interrupted the second you hit an arrow key, but the mob will still chase whoever maintains aggro)


Currently, its a very generic system. The mob emphasizes its attack based on whos there, and the player must hit a verb/macro(just as center) to attack. I don't like this method, and wanted some feedback.
Games should automate any process that, without question, would never not be done.
